Women provide consolation in times of need, whether it be through the tender touch of a mother's hand or the steadfast assistance of a friend. As they listen calmly, comprehend without passing judgment, and support others in both happiness and sadness, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨.

Women persevere in the face of hardship, showing compassion to a society that frequently fails to reciprocate. They are living examples of resilience, demonstrating that compassion in the face of adversity is just as powerful as physical prowess.

In society as a whole as well as in their homes, women are caregivers. These are the nurses who care for the ill. Their capacity for love, nurturing, and giving is an unbounded gift.

Solafa Magdy is a multimedia reporter based in Cairo, Egypt. Her news reports and features have covered the political transition and social unrest in Egypt, minority rights, women's rights, education, human rights, refugees and sexual harassment in Egyptian society. Her work has appeared in Alroeya (UAE), TRT World, MadaMasr and BBC Egypt. An expert in mobile journalism, she is the founder of Everyday Footage, a school that trains young women journalists and researchers in mobile reporting. At the United Nations, Solafa is keen to follow discussions of human rights – particularly, freedom of speech and protections for journalists – as well as initiatives to eradicate poverty and reduce plastic waste. Solafa has been imprisoned in excruciating conditions since November 2019, when she was abducted and detained following a raid of independent news outlets in Cairo. She has been jailed in pre-trail detention without access to a fair trial, exceeding what is lawfully prescribed in Egyptian law.

Hannah Reyes Morales is a Filipina photographer from Manila, Philippines.

The focus of Morales’ work surrounds resiliency and the bonds between individuals. Interested in how individuals face hardship, often her photographs will document the impoverished and observe the dignity of the poor despite the systemic inequality and injustice that is experienced.

Martha Ellis Gellhorn

was an American novelist, travel writer, and journalist who was a great war correspondent of the 20th century. She reported on virtually every major world conflict during her 60-year career. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Gellhorn participated in the "Golden Lane" rally for women's suffrage at the Democratic Party's 1916 national convention. She graduated from John Burroughs School in St. Louis and enrolled in Bryn Mawr College. In 1930, she worked at the United Press bureau in Paris but was fired after reporting sexual harassment. Gellhorn returned to the United States in 1932 and was hired as a field investigator for the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA) to help end the Great Depression. She traveled around the United States to report on the Depression and wrote a collection of short stories, The Trouble I've Seen (1936). Gellhorn died in 1998 by apparent su***de, ill and almost completely blind.

Ida Minerva Tarbell

(November 5, 1857 – January 6, 1944) was an American writer, investigative journalist, biographer, and lecturer. She was one of the leading muckrakers and reformers of the Progressive Era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was a pioneer of investigative journalism.[1]

Born in Pennsylvania at the beginning of the oil boom, Tarbell is best known for her 1904 book The History of the Standard Oil Company. The book was first published as a series of articles in McClure's from 1902 to 1904. It has been called a "masterpiece of investigative journalism", by historian J. North Conway,[2] as well as "the single most influential book on business ever published in the United States" by historian Daniel Yergin.[3] The work contributed to the dissolution of the Standard Oil monopoly and helped usher in the Hepburn Act of 1906, the Mann-Elkins Act, the creation of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the passage of the Clayton Antitrust Act of 1914.

Tarbell also wrote several biographies over the course of her 64-year career. She wrote biographies on Madame Roland and Napoleon. Tarbell believed that "the Truth and motivations of powerful human beings could be discovered." That Truth, she became convinced, could be conveyed in such a way as "to precipitate meaningful social change. She wrote numerous books and works on Abraham Lincoln, including ones that focused on his early life and career.

(born Elizabeth Jane Cochran; May 5, 1864 – January 27, 1922), better known by her pen name Nellie Bly, was an American journalist who was widely known for her record-breaking trip around the world in 72 days in emulation of Jules Verne's fictional character Phileas Fogg and an exposé in which she worked undercover to report on a mental institution from within.She pioneered her field and launched a new kind of investigative journalism.

Ethel Lois Payne (August 14, 1911 – May 28, 1991)was an American journalist, editor, and foreign correspondent. Known as the "First Lady of the Black Press," she fulfilled many roles over her career, including columnist, commentator, lecturer, and freelance writer. She combined advocacy with journalism as she reported on the Civil Rights Movement during the 1950s and 1960s. Her perspective as an African American woman informed her work, and she became known for asking questions others dared not ask
