Building a connected future for Philippine healthcare.
SugboDoc Technologies Inc. joined the FHIR Connectathon 2025, held on June 16–17 at Hilton Manila, led by UPM SILab and CSIRO Australia, in collaboration with the Department of Health (Philippines) and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.
The Connectathon, part of the Strengthening Standards Capability Project (SSCP), brings together developers, healthcare providers, policymakers, and global experts to advance standards-based digital health solutions for better healthcare delivery.
As a strong advocate of interoperability, SugboDoc has already integrated HL7 and FHIR standards into its cloud-based EMR, enabling secure and standards-driven health data exchange across clinics, hospitals and patients nationwide.
Throughout the Connectathon, our team worked with UPM SILab, DOH, regional health offices, Philhealth and other partners to strengthen national digital health strategies aligned with the country’s priorities.
We gained valuable insights on:
🤖 The Global Initiative on AI for Health
📘 The Global Strategy on Digital Health (2020–2027)
🩺 The International Patient Summary (IPS)
🧩 The OpenHIE Framework
🪪 Integration with the Philippine National ID Authentication Services
🌍 WHO priorities on digital health and AI
A highlight of the event was meeting Grahame Grieve, the “Father of FHIR,” who architected HL7’s global standard for healthcare data exchange.
Together with the digital health community, SugboDoc contributed to improving the Philippine Core FHIR Implementation Guide and the National Health Data Repository (NHDR) Guide, shaping standards tailored to Philippine healthcare use cases.
SugboDoc remains committed to building a connected, interoperable and efficient healthcare ecosystem, empowering providers and improving access to care for every Filipino.
