On October 20, 2025, an initial list of beneficiaries for the free uniform distribution was identified, which included students who are not part of the youth sector.

While we would have wanted to extend assistance to all, our current budget does not permit it. Hence, SK Lahug has decided to prioritize youth students—specifically those aged 15 and above—for the distribution of free uniforms.

With back to back aftershocks, earthquake reports in some parts of the country, incoming storms, we better be ready!

Secure an Emergency Kit/ Bag in your family! Make sure you have the following.

- Food: De Lata/ Instant Food/ Drinking Water, Milk etc.
- Medicine and First Aid kits: Maintenance, Wound treatment, and other body sensitivity
- Communication Tools/ Gadgets; Scissors, radio, cellular phones, batteries, powerbank, portable generators, markers, paper, etc.
- Clothing and personal cleaning: Clothing, underwears, toiletries, etc.

As our Serbisyong Kalinisan clean-up sessions take a 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 due to the recent earthquakes, let’s look back on one of our efforts to empower cleaner, greener communities--the 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 held last 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭! 🧹🌿

From the distribution, a total of 𝟑𝟖 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 have already claimed their materials. Huge thanks to all LASLO officers who coordinated with us throughout the process!

We are also grateful to KK Officers 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞 and 𝐌𝐚𝐫, as well as former SK Councilor 𝐓𝐨𝐛𝐢, for their invaluable assistance in ensuring the success of the distribution.

On October 5, 2025, the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Lahug in collaboration with Barangay Lahug Council, Lahug Emergency Response Team, and BPSO, successfully delivered the 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐢𝐝 to several communities in North Cebu that were severely affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake last September 30.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this relief mission possible. Your unwavering support continues to bring hope to our recovering fellow Cebuanos.

Last September 30, 2025, SK Lahug distributed relief packs and provided hot meals to 𝟗𝟔 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 and 𝟒𝟐 𝐥𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 affected by the September 21 fire in Sitio Camagong, Lahug, Cebu City.

This initiative was made possible not only through the SK funds, but also through the generous donations of various individuals and the dedication of our volunteers. Your unwavering support truly means a lot to our fellow residents recovering from the fire in Sitio Camagong.

Big thanks to SK Councilor Chara Sheine Tangcay, SK Councilor Ericka Monique Miranda, and our very own SK Chairperson Mary Theree Espanol for being on ground in buying the goods for the victims.

The SK Lahug Council turnover the goods to SK Federation Cebu City, Uha caregiver academy/Britech College c/o Ms. Veronica Baguio (Angat Buhay), and to Miss Yvonne Mae Sy (Abante Norte Group). The council donated:

25 bottles – 6 liters of water
60 pcs- canned goods
2 boxes (48 pcs each)- Pork and Beans Pouch
5 trays- Eggs (Lugaw ingredients for the hot meals turnover to the Uha caregiver academy/Britech College c/o Ms. Baguio (Angat Buhay)
360 pesos worth of Tablea (for Champorado ingredients turnover to Uha caregiver academy/Britech College c/o Ms. Baguio (Angat Buhay)

Total: 7,646.30

On September 30, 2025, A magnitude 6.7 Earthquake hits Northern Cebu at around 10 PM. This greatly affects the Municipalities of Bogo, Medellin, Tabogon, San Remigio, Daanbantayan, Tabuelan, Santa Fe, Bantayan, Borbon, and Sogod, and other neighboring municipalities. We even experienced the said earthquake here in Cebu City with a magnitude of 5.3.

To help those affected areas of the earthquake, the SK Barangay Lahug pledged around 7,646.30 pesos worth of goods from their petty cash. The SK Lahug also opened a donation drive to extend help to the survivors and victims.

As of today, October 3, 2025, 5:15 PM, the SK Barangay Lahug has raised an amount of 9,650 pesos in donations. The SK Lahug Council would like to thank the Barangay Lahug Council, headed by Hon. Hazel Ann Empleo, for encouraging the council to donate 6,500 for our donation drive. And to other individuals who extend their help by contributing to our donation drive.

For the collection as of today, the SK Lahug Council plans to continue the second wave of buying trapal, habol, solar lights, and flashlights. We are still encouraging others to continue the call for donations for the earthquake victims posted on our SK FB Page.

The SK Barangay Lahug Council received donations from T.O.R.C.H. (Total Outreach for Community Health - Cebu Institute of Medicine) in coordination with Mr. Ramcarl Banquirigo, last September 26, 2025. They donated the following goods for the fire victims of Sitio Camagong:

-112 pcs bath soap
-204 pcs shampoo
-96 pcs deodorant
-48 sanitary pads, heavy flow
-64 sanitary pads, regular flow
-60 pcs Energen cereal
-40 pcs Alaska powdered milk
-350 pcs toothbrush

Thank you so much for your unwavering support. Your generosity means a lot to our fire victims in Sitio Camagong. This donation was repacked and distributed together with our recent distribution last September 28, 2025.
