Adventist Hospital – Cebu, Inc. located at 400 Tres de Abril Street, San Nicolas, Cebu City, Philippines, is a tertiary level hospital owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is a link in a chain of hospital that the church operates around the world.
On April 8, 1956, H.W. Miller Memorial Sanitarium and Hospital now Adventist Hospital – Cebu, Inc., was formally opened to the public as a 20-bed, one doctor hospital with a skeleton working force of 16 personnel.
The expansion of the hospital’s right wing in 1964 was deemed necessary due to the demand of the community for bigger and better facilities. With the physical expansion, the clinical facilities and personnel also enlarged accordingly. At this time the food service was opened.
The entire original building, which was constructed mostly of light materials, was torn down and new solid concrete structure was constructed.
More rooms were added, improvements of the Business Office, the Medical Records Section, the Emergency Room, The Information Counter, the Canteen, the Physical Therapy department, the renovation of the Mary Miller Hall and the widening of the ground lobby and hallway. These improvement signified progress.
Today, after having undergone a face-lift in its physical structure, the hospital now proudly offers an improving Medical Care Service in a modern 100-bed, five-storey building. Together with its physical renovations and development, the former H.W. Miller Memorial Sanitarium and Hospital had formally changed its trade name to Adventist Hospital-Cebu, Inc. last February 16, 2012 under the new SEC registration. Adventist Hospital-Cebu, Inc. was from then-on, the new business name of this hospital.
Adventist Hospital – Cebu, Inc. provides education to people in the surrounding communities regarding lifestyle changes and proper diet through free health lectures. It also provides free medical outreach services and participates in the programs regarding promotion of health.
Adventist Hospital – Cebu, Inc. will uphold its goal for the physical, emotional and spiritual healing. With the achievement of the much anticipated certification by the International
Standard Organization, the institution is willing to take on new challenges for the cause of continued improvement so to provide quality services.
As proof for the continued quest for quality service, Adventist Hospital – Cebu was awarded the “Center for Quality” during the recent Philhealth Benchbook Accreditation and now on the process of ISO Certification.
Adventist Hospital – Cebu Inc., will firmly stand with its commitment- “Dedicated to total Care”.
