The facility, worth โฑ๐.๐ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ๐ง, is a flagship initiative under the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) Program of the Department of Agriculture โ National Livestock Program (DA-NLP). It is designed to house over ๐,๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ (ready-to-lay) pullets, positioning Magrow MPC to contribute substantially to egg production and stabilize the local supply of fresh eggs in Maragusan and surrounding areas.
The ceremony was led by ๐๐ข๐ซ. ๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐ข๐จ ๐. ๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐, Chairperson of the Board of Magrow MPC, alongside the companyโs Board of Directors, Officers, and Management. Also gracing the event were ๐๐๐ฒ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ ๐. ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ of Maragusan and a representative from the Department of Agriculture.
โThis project is not just about poultry; itโs about empowering our community. Through the LEED Program, we are creating a sustainable model for agricultural enterprise that benefits our member-cooperatives and the people of Maragusan,โ Dir. Sabella said during his message.
Mayor Colina commended Magrow MPC for its forward-thinking leadership, noting that the project aligns with the local governmentโs push for food sufficiency and livelihood generation.
The blessing and ribbon-cutting mark the operational start of the facility, with full egg production expected within weeks after the pullets reach laying age. Magrow MPC management assured that the project would be managed sustainably, with animal welfare and biosecurity as top priorities.

MAGROW MPC is a Multi Purpose Cooperative that was initially organized by banana growers servicing Stanfilco, a Dole Philippines subsidiary company. These farmers, many of whom were poor and had little know-how in the industry, were then able to maximize their produce and income, and develop their knowledge and skills through the cooperative. Through more than 26 years of teamwork and effort, the cooperative has put up a chain of business activities, such as manpower provision, trading centers and savings and credit operations. Consequently, the coop has become a main economic contributor in the Municipality of Maragusan. The once remote, swampy and conflict zone town is now a progressive and thriving community where local and outside investors are actively engaged in their respective businesses. Maragusan Growers Multi Purpose Cooperative continues to strive to become a world-class cooperative that provides its members excellent products and services tailored to fit their needs.
