Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC), Bicol Cancer Center, commemorated World Cancer Day today, February 4, with activities focused on awareness, education, and patient support.

A simultaneous health teaching session was conducted for patients and their families while chemotherapy and radiotherapy services continued to ensure uninterrupted cancer care. Medical consultations were also made available, and simple snacks were provided to patients as a gesture of care and encouragement.

Through this observance, BRHMC–Bicol Cancer Center reaffirms its commitment to accessible, compassionate, and quality cancer care for the Bicolano community.

BRHMC proudly receives the Heart of Cancer Care Award and the Outstanding Cancer Assistance Fund Stewardship Award during the CSPMAP and CAF Access Sites Forum on November 27, 2025 at Iloilo City.

These honors reflect our steadfast commitment to compassionate, timely cancer care—ensuring patients receive immediate guidance, access to essential medicines, and genuine kindness at every step. BRHMC is also recognized for exemplary stewardship of the Cancer Assistance Fund, achieving 100% utilization within 3–5 months and maintaining accurate, on-time data encoding in both CSPMAP Registry and CAFIS.

A milestone that inspires us to continue serving with integrity, empathy, and dedication.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month 🫁

🔴Ano ang Lung Cancer?
Ang cancer ay isang sakit kung saan 'di napipigilan ang paglaki at pagdami ng masasamang bukol sa baga sa katawan.
Kapag ang cancer ay nagmula sa baga, ito ay tinatawag na lung cancer.

📌Iba-iba ang sintomas nito depende sa tao at uri ng cancer. Ngunit ang ilan sa mga karaniwang sintomas nito ay:

*Ubo na 'di nawawala
*Sakit sa dibdib
*Hirap sa paghinga
*Pag-ubo na may dugo
*Lubos na pagkapagod
*Pagbaba ng timbang sa 'di alam na dahilan
