In celebration of this year's International Infection Prevention and Control Week, our dedicated IDS and IPC team continued the celebration through a meaningful community outreach at Barangay Indangan, Davao City.

Together, we promoted infection prevention and control by teaching proper hand hygiene to kindergarten pupils, offering free medical check-ups to senior citizens, and conducting a lecture for everyone.๐Ÿซถ๐ŸŒ

SPMC Infection Prevention and Control Unit (IPCU) & Southern Philippines Adult Infectious Disease and Research Institute (SPAIDRI) led by Dr. Marie Yvette Barez spearheads Surgical Site Infection Prevention and Wound Care Management in Partnership with renowned experts in the likes of Dr. Esther Saguil, Dr. Katrina Victoria Baluyut-Angeles and Mr. Richard Debenham.

IPCU convened with Doctors and Nurses from various cutting department subspecialties through an interactive seminar with the theme โ€œGoing Beyond Stitch and Bandage: The Revolution of Wound Careโ€ conducted on August 15, 2025, 8am-5pm held at the SPMC Mahogany Hall.

The activity sought to raise awareness on SPMCโ€™s stand on SSI Prevention reiterating that โ€œInfection Prevention is Everybodyโ€™s Businessโ€.
