I met this guy back in our college days.

Alam ko na noon pa, isa siya sa pinaka-passionate big men sa court.

Grinding for his studies, hustling through life… kasi pareho kaming galing sa hirap.

Parehong may pangarap, parehong lumalaban.

Decades passed, and life brought us together again.

This time, hindi na lang laro ang kalaban, kundi bills, responsibilities, and the pressure to provide for our families.

Pero kahit iba na ang career path namin, one thing never changed:

Brotherhood. And basketball.

Sa iba, basketball is “just a game.”
Pero sa amin, basketball is a platform
a training ground that builds your character, your discipline, your resilience.

It’s where you learn to show up, fight back, and bring out the best in you.

And that’s why kahit gaano pa kami katagal na nagkahiwalay ng landas…

Warning! 2 Minute Read...

Marami sa atin ang sobrang focus sa paghahanap ng “right person.”

We pray for it, we wait for it, minsan we chase it.

Ganyan din ako dati. marami akong naging pagkakamali.

Not once, not twice… marami.

And there were moments I’m not proud of.

Akala ko dati, ang sagot ay kung sino ang darating.
Pero tinuro ni Lord sa akin, the real journey is becoming the right person first.

Then dumating yung season na hindi madali.

Hindi siya fairy tale. dumaan kami sa hirap, sakit, doubts, at pagsubok…
even until now.

Pero ang difference?

We choose to stay grateful to God through every season.

We believe God didn’t bring us together just for love, but for purpose.

Not just happiness, but calling.

Hindi lang para sa isa’t isa, kundi para sa future na mas malaki pa sa kaya naming isipin.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord… (Jeremiah 29:11)
Plans to prosper you, plans to give you hope and a future.

At hindi lang iyon verse. naging reality siya sa journey namin.

Kaya kung binabasa mo ‘to ngayon…

Don’t lose hope.

Your timeline is not delayed. God is preparing you.

Wag masyadong base ang buhay sa pera.

Kasi sa dulo, ang tunay na joy ay hindi assets. kundi relationships.

Pamilya ang nagbibigay ng tunay na fulfillment.

At pamilya ay binubuo hindi ng pera,

kundi ng mga taong pinagsama ni GOD.

Recently, I was shocked to learn that a friend I used to look up to got involved in drugs.

Maybe dahil sobrang hirap ng pinagdadaanan niya sa business. Utang sunod-sunod, bills piling up, pressure
everywhere.

And to be honest, as business owners, totoo talaga: minsan masakit, malupit, at nakakabaliw yung pag-akyat.

Pero kahit ganoon kahirap… I choose not to walk that path.

I choose to fight my battles clean.

I choose to believe na may pag-asa, may bukas, at may paraan si Lord.

No matter how heavy things get, I hold on to this:

“The Lord will deliver me from everything.”

Kaya sa mga kabataan ngayon. Lalo na sa mga napipilitang gumawa ng shortcut:

Please guard your path. Increase your faith. Wag pumasok sa iligal kahit gaano kahirap ang buhay.

Kung pagod ka, pahinga.

Kung nalulunod ka sa problema, humingi ng tulong.

Pero wag hayaang sirain ng maling desisyon ang magandang future mo.
