๐ป My first radio guesting at DXAB Radyo Patrol as a DAVAO TAROT READER ๐
When ABS-CBN still had broadcasting stations, Sir Ian Ray Garcia invited me to guest on their radio show (Kooltura) at DXAB 1296 Radyo Patrol.
Back then, I was still known as The Tarot Shrink ๐ฎ (a.k.a. Davao Tarot Reader). I was asked to do predictions for the upcoming year using tarot.
ABS-CBN was my favorite local channel.
Having grown up to their news and some of my favorite TV shows, OF COURSE I SAID YES! ๐
--- THE BIG DAY ๐ฃ๐ฅ ---
I remember being nervous on the day of the show and tried to keep my cool.
But as I walked through the gate of ABS-CBN Shrine Hills in Matina, Davao, I had mixed emotions.
I was stoked to be there, but it also felt surreal ๐คฏ WAS THIS REALLY HAPPENING TO ME?!?!
After entering the building and mazing through its halls, we finally reached the broadcasting studio.
Inside, my disbelief was replaced by excitement and I began to curiously look around.
๐ฅน It was my first time at a radio station after all!
Sir Ian guided me to my seat and mic, then explained how the show would go. His co-host, Ms. Susan Escarinas, arrived soon after.
Before I knew it, WE WERE ALREADY ON-AIR ๐ฑ I started feeling nervous again!
--- IT'S SHOWTIME ๐ฌ ---
When Kooltura went live, the hosts started off by highlighting local happenings in Davao City.
If I recall correctly, it was a 1-hour show, and I would have 15 minutes to do yearly predictions at the end.
I patiently sat there and watched them confidently breeze through their lines.
There was a quick breakโsome music to keep listeners entertainedโand then my turn came.
--- MY YEARLY PREDICTION ๐
---
I can no longer remember shuffling and choosing the cards. But my reading seemed to highlight crimes and injustice in the city.
I was stunned by what the tarot cards revealed.
Sir Ian probably wasn't expecting it too as I vividly recall him smiling nervously ๐
But here's the thing...
CRIMES HAPPEN EVERYWHERE. No one wants itโbut it is a reality of life that we must accept.
As a tarot reader who wants to break free from the MISCONCEPTIONS on tarot readings, negative predictions can be challenging.
I do not want to be that CRAZY "manghuhula" who scares people. I want to be the one that EMPOWERS them to make the right choices.
So I calmly relayed my predictionsโthen shifted my focus on POSITIVE STEPS that locals can take to avoid falling victim to petty crimes.
--- SIGNING OFF ๐ค ---
Finally, the show ended. I couldn't believe that I made it through! Sir Ian and Ms. Susan gave me a quick tour of adjacent areas as we walked to a board room where we hung out for a while.
I am so lucky that Kooltura's hosts made it a FUN, LAID BACK, and MEMORABLE experience.
I'll forever be grateful for that day with them ๐ฅฐ THEY WERE THE BEST PART OF IT!
This was my first BIG MILESTONE as a tarot reader in Davao, and I wanted to share this part of my history to connect with you.
๐ IF YOU'VE READ THIS FAR, thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me.
--- P.S. I THINK A GHOST FOLLOWED ME HOME that day ๐ป๐ฑ I'll talk about it some other time!
