The National Team of the Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP) paid a courtesy call to Hon. Mayor Arthur D. Davin of the Municipality of Magsaysay. The delegation was warmly welcomed at the Municipal Hall, where discussions centered on the ongoing implementation of PMNP programs and the municipality’s commitment to improving nutrition outcomes for children and families.
The team was led by Doc. Faith Alberto (PMNP Project Team Leader), together with Ms. Ana Epefania Escober (PMNP Deputy Team Leader for Technical Policy and Standards Section), Sir Jan Luke Demetrio - Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist , and Sir Paolo Araojo - Environmental Safeguards Monitoring Officer, who expressed their appreciation for the strong support of the Local Government Unit in sustaining the goals of the project.
Following the courtesy call, the PMNP Team, accompanied by the Municipal Nutrition Committee and the Municipal Health Office, conducted a monitoring activity on the Information System (IS) in three selected barangays of Magsaysay, namely Barangay Blocon, Barangay Poblacion, and Barangay Barayong. The activity aimed to assess the accuracy and timeliness of nutrition data collection, evaluate existing gaps, and strengthen the capacities of barangay nutrition scholars and health workers in utilizing the IS.
The visit also served as an opportunity to highlight the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration in addressing malnutrition and promoting healthier communities. The National Team commended the dedication of the LGU, barangay officials, and frontline health workers for their continuous efforts in ensuring the success of the PMNP implementation in Magsaysay.
