Walang mabili na PROPYLTHIOURACIL (PTU) para sa pasyente na may hyperthyroidism dahil sa production/distribution problem. Para sa mga pasyente na may hyperthyroidism at naka-PTU, magtanong sa inyong endocrinologist kung maaaring magshift sa METHIMAZOLE/THIAMAZOLE o CARBIMAZOLE.

Hindi basta basta pwedeng magshift kung nagkaroon ng severe side effect sa methimazole/thiamazole o carbimazole dati. Pero karamihan sa mga pasyente ay maaaring subukang i-shift.

Ang PTU ay pinapaboran kung 1st trimester na buntis at nagka-allergy sa methimazole/thiamazole o carbimazole. Kung wala nito, kadalasan METHIMAZOLE/THIAMAZOLE o CARBIMAZOLE na ang nararapat sa pasyente.

Tandaan - hindi maaaring uminom ng kahit anong anti thyroid ang mga pasyente na dumanas na ng agranulocytosis.
