August 28, 2025, the RHU Esperanza TB DOTS Center, in collaboration with DOH SOCCSKSARGEN Region and the Provincial Health Office of Sultan Kudarat, joins the nationwide celebration of National Lung Month this August with the purpose of raising public awareness on the importance of lung health and the prevention of respiratory diseases. Established under Presidential Proclamation No. 1761, this month-long observance focuses on educating communities about common lung conditions such as tuberculosis (TB), pneumonia, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
It also aims to highlight the dangers of smoking, va**ng, and exposure to air pollution. Through various activities like medical missions, health forums and awareness campaigns, National Lung Month promotes early detection, proper treatment, and healthy lifestyle practices.
The celebration was conducted at Sitio Ugis, Barangay Margues, one of the GIDAs of the Municipality, aiming to bring TB services at the grassroot level and IP community.
Activities conducted include:
✅Active Case Finding through Mobile Xray
✅PPD Testing to Children 14y.o and below
✅IEC on TB, MDR TB and TPT
