Congratulations to our student-athletes and academic achievers! 🏸💙

As part of the 2nd Anniversary of Meowth loves coffee on Facebook, we awarded two rackets under the program last Sunday (Jan 18) — made possible by the continued support of this community.

Both rackets were shipped free of charge via LBC last Monday (Jan 19), straight to the recipients.

Thank you to everyone who joined, shared their stories, and supported this edition.

Finally spoke with Mr. Snow’s vet last night. While his heart is strong, he had a close call with heavy bleeding and a BP drop during surgery last Monday. His heart stayed stong enough to keep going. He truly soldiered through it.

The fear of losing him was real, but it’s been replaced by pure admiration for his bravery. So grateful to the medical team, to God for hearing our prayers, and to everyone who kept our boy in their thoughts.

Mr. Snow is finishing up his medication now and will officially be discharged on Thursday! Our furry fighter is coming home. 😺💙🙏

Jan 19: Post-Op Update 🐾

​Mr. Snow recovered from anesthesia around 7 PM following a successful surgery. To protect his kidneys—given his senior status and CKD—the medical team used a low-dosage protocol that required the procedure to be completed within 90 minutes.

​Current Status:
✅️ ​Vitals: Stable and looking good.
✅️ ​Appetite: He started eating again.
✅️ ​Spirit: He was very vocal when he saw me and Barefoot Daves! 😺 While he clearly wants to come home, he’ll likely stay at the hospital until tomorrow evening for observation.
✅️ ​Post-op pain management is in place to keep him comfortable.

Rooting for you, son! Aja! 🙏💪😺

A big update on Mr. Snow’s heart! ❤️

​We brought Mr. Snow to a cardio-veterinarian this morning for his 2D Echo and clearance.

While his heart protein (troponin) is elevated, his heart health is looking great where it counts:
✅ Heart structure: Normal
✅ Heart beat: Normal
✅ Heart rate: Normal

​Mr. Snow's heart condition is stable. Since he is a CKD (chronic kidney disease) warrior, his kidneys are just a little slow at clearing that protein from his blood.

This cardiac clearance is the green light we needed for his dental surgery - to prevent the bacteria from proliferating in his blood stream and stressing his kidneys. 🦷 We know anesthesia and CKD aren't exactly "friends," especially in senior cats, so obtaining this clearance is a huge help in keeping him safe.

​Now, Daves and I will decide which veterinary hospital to bring Snow for surgery. It’s a delicate balance managing his anesthesia dosing vs. his CKD, and we want to be 100% sure about where he’ll be treated.

​At the end of the day, we just want the best for our Snow. Onward to a healthier, pain-free smile for our brave boy! 🙏😺💙
