Avoiding Throat Irritation During Cold Weather & Festivities

Cold weather, air-conditioning, holiday parties, and too much talking can irritate the throat. You can protect it by:
✅ Stay hydrated
✅ Avoid alcohol and smoke
✅ Limit loud or prolonged talking
✅ Use a scarf or mask in cold weather
✅ Consult a doctor if hoarseness lasts over two weeks

✈️ Preventing Ear Problems During Travel

Experiencing clogged or painful ears during flights? Sudden air pressure changes can affect the middle ear. To ease discomfort:
✅ Try swallowing, chewing gum, or yawning during take-off and landing
✅ For infants—let them breastfeed or bottle-feed
✅ If you have a cold or sinus congestion, consider nasal saline rinses or decongestants (as advised by your doctor)
✅ Seek medical consult if pain persists

What Are Red Flags for Airway Obstruction?

Seek urgent medical care if you notice:
⚠️ Stridor (noisy breathing)
⚠️ Severe shortness of breath
⚠️ Bluish lips or face
⚠️ Sudden choking or inability to speak
⚠️ Swelling in the neck or throat

Airway obstruction is a medical emergency. Quick action saves lives.
