Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit joins in the celebration of Antimicrobial Awareness Week with the theme: "Act Now: Protect Our Future, Secure our Future"
In celebration of Antimicrobial Awareness Week, ISDH Tagudin strengthened its advocacy on the proper use of antimicrobials. Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) refers to the coordinated strategies designed to promote the responsible and optimal use of antibiotics to prevent resistance, ensure effective treatment, and protect future generations.
This year, the AMS Committee spearheaded a series of activities to raise awareness and deepen the understanding of AMS among staff:

Representatives from each unit showcased their creativity through posters highlighting this yearโs theme.
๐ฝ Day 2 โ Celebration of World Toilet Day
Jointly celebrated with the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Committee), reinforcing the importance of sanitation in preventing infections and antimicrobial resistance.
๐ง Day 3 โ AMS Quiz Olympics
Participants from various units demonstrated their knowledge and commitment to AMS practices.
๐ Day 4 โ OPD Lecture
An informative lecture was conducted by Dr. Marianne L. Dauz, AMS Chairman, emphasizing the importance of Antimicrobial Stewardship in daily hospital practice.
