Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit joins in the celebration of National Hemophilia Awareness Month (Month-long) and World Hemophilia Day (April 17, 2026) with the theme: "Diagnosis: First Step to Care"
What is Hemophilia?
Hemophilia is a genetic bleeding disorder where the blood does not clot properly due to lack of clotting factors, leading to prolonged bleeding.
Signs & Symptoms:
• Frequent or prolonged bleeding (even from small cuts)
• Easy bruising
• Nosebleeds
• Bleeding in joints (causing pain and swelling)
• Blood in urine or stool
Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin proudly joins in raising awareness about bleeding disorders and the importance of early diagnosis with the theme “Diagnosis: First Step to Care,” this activity aims to educate and empower our community with the knowledge needed to recognize, manage, and support individuals living with hemophilia and other bleeding conditions.
