Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit joins in the celebration of World TB Day (March 24, 2026) with the theme: "Yes! We Can End TB"

In line with the observance of World TB Day 2026, a series of health education activities were successfully conducted.

A ward lecture was facilitated by Mr. Edgar Allan Lagrana (TB DOTS Nurse) to raise awareness about Tuberculosis, highlighting its symptoms, risks, prevention, and the importance of early detection and treatment. This was complemented by an informative video clip presentation to further enhance understanding among patients and their watchers.

Additionally, IEC materials were distributed to reinforce key messages and encourage everyone to take part in the fight against TB.

Let us continue to stay informed, get tested, and support one another in ending TB. Together, we can make a difference! 💙

Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit joins in the celebration of World Social Work Day (March 17, 2026) with the theme: 'Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society"

A short yet meaningful OPD lecture was successfully conducted for our patients and stakeholders. This activity was spearheaded by the Medical Social Work Services in partnership with the Public Health Unit, reflecting a strong collaboration in promoting holistic and community-centered care.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Head of Medical Social Work Services, Mr. Anthony D. Dagwase, RSW for delivering an insightful lecture that emphasized the importance of unity, compassion, and the vital role of social workers as catalysts of change. As a token of appreciation, simple gifts were also distributed to all attendees, making the event more engaging and memorable.

Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit joins in the celebration of Philippine Digestive Health Week (2nd Week of March) with the theme: "Malusog na Tiyan, Masiglang Katawan" and Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month with the theme: "Bituka ay Pangalagaan, Kanser ay Iwasan"

Last March 12, 2026, ISDH Tagudin Public Health Unit and Healthy Workplace Committee - in coordination with the Dietary Department actively joined the celebration of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and the Philippine Digestive Health Week through a simple yet meaningful activity—"Fruit Cup Day" for a Healthy Gut and Healthy Life. 🍎🍍🍉

This initiative aims to promote awareness on the importance of maintaining a healthy digestive system through proper nutrition and lifestyle. March is observed as Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month to educate communities about prevention, early detection, and healthy habits that can reduce the risk of colorectal cancer. It also highlights the importance of eating fiber-rich fruits and maintaining a healthy gut for a health life.

In line with this, the 2nd week of March is declared as Philippine Digestive Health Week, encouraging everyone to be more conscious of digestive health and to adopt healthier food choices and habits.

Through small actions like choosing nutritious foods such as fruits, we take a step closer to a healthier community.

In celebration of International Ear Care Day, the Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit conducted an informative lecture on proper ear care delivered by Dr. Marcus Luke Dauz, MD, DPBO-HNS, ISDH Tagudin visiting ENT Consultant.

Dr. Dauz shared valuable information on the importance of protecting our hearing, proper ear hygiene, and the prevention of hearing-related problems. The lecture aimed to raise awareness and educate participants on how to maintain good ear health.

Following the lecture, ear examinations were conducted to assess hearing health and identify possible ear conditions that may need further medical attention. This activity supports the global theme: "From Communities to Classrooms: Hearing Care for Every Child” promoting awareness and encouraging everyone to take steps in protecting their hearing.

💃🌿Zumba for Health and Wellness! 🌿💃

Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit and Healthy Workplace Committee conducted a Zumba Activity last March 4, 2026 to promote active living and encourage healthier lifestyles within our community.

Participants joined the activity wearing purple shirts, symbolizing support and solidarity for the National Women’s Month Celebration and the continued advocacy for women’s health and empowerment. 💜

This fun and energetic activity brought together members of the community who danced, moved, and exercised for a cause—raising awareness that obesity is a global health issue and encouraging everyone to take small but meaningful steps toward a healthier lifestyle.

The Zumba session is also part of our continuous Women’s Health Program, highlighting the importance of physical activity, wellness, and community participation in building a healthier future for women and families.

🌸✨ National Women’s Month Kick-Off Celebration ✨🌸

ISDH Tagudin proudly joins the nation in celebrating National Women’s Month with a meaningful kick-off program honoring the strength, leadership, and invaluable contributions of our female employees.

In line with the sub-theme “Lead like the Babaylans Filipinas!" our female employees gracefully wore ASEAN-inspired attire reflecting the spirit of the Babaylan — a symbol of wisdom, courage, and empowered leadership. As part of the celebration, all female-themed employees proudly led the Flag Raising Ceremony, highlighting women’s vital role in shaping our institution and community.

A powerful and inspiring message was delivered by Mr. Anthony Dagwase, WCPU Focal Person, emphasizing the rights of women and encouraging everyone to embody the leadership qualities of the Babaylan — compassionate, resilient, and transformative.

The planned activities for the month-long celebration were also announced, promising engaging and empowering events for all.

As we honor women this March, may we continue to uplift one another and champion equality in every space we occupy.
