Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit joins in the celebration of National Hemophilia Awareness Month (Month-long) and World Hemophilia Day (April 17, 2026) with the theme: "Diagnosis: First Step to Care"

What is Hemophilia?
Hemophilia is a genetic bleeding disorder where the blood does not clot properly due to lack of clotting factors, leading to prolonged bleeding.

Signs & Symptoms:
• Frequent or prolonged bleeding (even from small cuts)
• Easy bruising
• Nosebleeds
• Bleeding in joints (causing pain and swelling)
• Blood in urine or stool

Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin proudly joins in raising awareness about bleeding disorders and the importance of early diagnosis with the theme “Diagnosis: First Step to Care,” this activity aims to educate and empower our community with the knowledge needed to recognize, manage, and support individuals living with hemophilia and other bleeding conditions.

Day 3 (April 15, 2026)of our celebration of World Health Worker Week, highlights the importance of staying safe and healthy during this hot sea*on!

ISDH Tagudin is proud to officially launch version 3 of our “Beat the Heat: Sa Tag-init” program—now on its 3rd year of bringing comfort, care, and cool relief every summer! 💙

This annual initiative continues to promote heat safety while spreading joy through simple yet meaningful treats. Free ice cream 🍦 and refreshing gulaman juice 🥤, generously sponsored by our Chief of Hospital, Doc Jules Bona, were shared with all OPD patients, in-patients, watchers, students and employees.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports and keeps this tradition alive. Together, we stay cool, healthy, and united in service! ❄️🌊

Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit joins in the celebration of World Health Worker (1st Week of April) with the theme: "Health Workers are VIPs — Value, Invest, Protect, and Strengthen"

Day 1 (April 13, 2026) A meaningful kick-off program was held after the flag raising. The activity featured a short yet inspiring message from our Chief of Hospital, Dr. Jules Bona, MPM, MHcA delivered by our Administrative Officer IV Ma’am Michelle F. Dauz, MPA. In his message, he emphasized:

"Our healthcare workers are the face of hope, healing, and comfort. Your dedication goes beyond treating illnesses—you touch lives, restore dignity, and bring joy to those in need. Truly, health workers are VIPs who must be valued, invested in, and protected".
"To our medical doctors, dentists, nurses and allied health professionals, administrative staff and support staff, I salute you for your hard work and dedication. Your contributions are invaluable, and we appreciate all that you do".
"Thank you our healthcare heroes"

The program also included a photo session at the photobooth, symbolizing unity, appreciation, and gratitude for the unwavering service of all health workers.

Ngayong tag-init, habang tayo ay nag-eenjoy sa mga beach at swimming activities, huwag nating kalimutan na ang kaligtasan ay laging unahin—lalo na para sa ating mga bata.

🔴 Bantay Lunod: 5 Paalala para sa Kaligtasan
✔️ Bantay – Laging may nagbabantay sa mga bata
✔️ Bida Salbabida – Gumamit ng life vest o salbabida
✔️ Barrier – Maglagay ng harang sa mga mapanganib na lugar
✔️ Bawal ang Alak – Iwasan ang pag-inom habang naliligo o nagbabantay

Ilocos Sur District Hospital Tagudin Public Health Unit joins in the celebration of Rabies Awareness Month with the theme: "Rabies-free na pusa't a*o, kaligtasan ng pamilyang Pilipino".

In celebration of Rabies Awareness Month, a series of informative activities were successfully conducted at the OPD area to promote awareness and prevention of rabies in our community.

Led by our dedicated ABTC Nurse Ms. Noemi Germelina L. Lodia, the following initiatives were carried out:
📌 Ward Lecture to educate patients and watchers
📌 Distribution of IEC materials for increased awareness
📌 Video clip presentation highlighting rabies prevention and management

These efforts aim to remind everyone that rabies is 100% fatal but 100% preventable. Through proper knowledge and immediate action, we can protect our families and communities from this deadly disease.

Let us all work together to:
✔️ Wash wounds immediately with soap and water
✔️ Seek medical attention right away
✔️ Get vaccinated and protect our pets

📌 What is Colorectal Cancer?
Colorectal cancer is a type of cancer that starts in the colon or re**um (large intestine). It usually begins as small growths called polyps that can develop into cancer over time if not detected and treated early.

We would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to our esteemed resource speaker, Dr. Maria Aloiza J. Hadloc-Tiu, for sharing her expertise and invaluable knowledge on this important topic. Your dedication to educating and empowering the community truly inspires us. 👩‍⚕️💙
