A ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ช๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฝ was conducted last April 18 for our project core group: ๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐™๐™ค๐™ค๐™ฉ๐™๐™‚๐™ช๐™ž๐™™๐™š๐™จ ๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿป, which is composed of Brgy. Particion Barangay Health Workers, Sir Cyril Gasacao (PES Principal), PES Teachers, and PTA officers. We also invited Brgy. Captain Jessie Gelasan, who helped us welcome our invited guest lecturers.

First, ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—ฅ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ผ, the Municipal Dentist delivered a lecture on Basic Oral Health Problems Detection, Referral System tailored for Dental Problems, as well as PhilHealth benefits specific for Oral and Dental Services.

๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐——๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป, the Municipal Health Officer, discussed next the Importance of Reinforcing Healthy Oral Health Habits that starts at the level of pregnancy, where the mothersโ€™ nutrition plays an imporant role in the development of Orally-fit Children.

To holistically tackle clean and healthy habits, we also had ๐— ๐—ฎโ€™๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐—ฆ๐˜†๐—น๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฎ ๐—š๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ผ, the Municipal Sanitary Inspector III, to discuss the how-tos and importance of safe water handling and chlorination to reinforce the importance of WASH in maintaining Healthy Oral Habits, as well as reducing waterborne illnesses.

We partnered with Project Palabasa to conduct the ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜†๐˜๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ช๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฝ ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ข๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ก๐˜‚๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป last April 16 and 18. This intiative strengthens the knowledge of the kids about the importance of health oral health habits (especially visits to the dentists) and eating healthier foods (Go, Grow, and Glow foods)! Before we started with the storytelling, we have given our Pre-tests to the kids to assess their baseline knowledge, and then proceeeded to reading the stories line-by-line with the kids. Important terms about oral health were emphasized and discussed and then we gave them an activity to improve their knowledge and comprehension. We also provided our Activity Booklets to serve as the kidsโ€™ personal module! ๐Ÿ’œ

Last April 13, 14, and 17, we partnered with Guimbal Primary Care Facility through ๐——๐—ฟ. ๐—ฅ๐˜†๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ก๐—ผ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ผ (Municipal Dentist) to successfully conduct the Free Tooth Extraction for our Grades 1-4 learners from Particion Elementary School. Round 2 of our monthly storytelling sessions for the year! ๐Ÿ˜

Project Bangirit and Project Palabasa brought the story of "Ay! May Bukbok ang Ngipin ni Ani!" to life at the Mga Kwentooth Pambata session held at Particion Elementary School last March 24, 2026.

Written by Dr. Luis Gatmaitan and illustrated by Jason Moss, the story tells about the importance of visiting the dentist whenever we experience a toothache. After the storytelling session, the teams discussed good and bad oral health habits with students from Kinder to Grade 6.

On March 27, Team Bangirit, together with Iloilo Provincial Health Office and Guimbal Primary Care Facility, conducted ๐Ÿฆท ๐—” ๐—ฆ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐—ง๐—ข๐—ข๐—ง๐—›๐—ฏ๐˜†๐—ฒ: ๐—–๐˜‚๐—น๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐——๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐Ÿฆท. The event featured an ๐ŸŽค๐™ค๐™ง๐™–๐™ก ๐™๐™š๐™–๐™ก๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ก๐™  given by Dr. Jose Nelson Kuan ๐ŸŽค, the Oral Health Program Coordinator of Iloilo PHO, a surprise appearance by ๐Ÿฐ ๐˜ฟ๐™ง. ๐™๐™–๐™—๐™—๐™ž๐™ฉ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™ข๐™–๐™จ๐™˜๐™ค๐™ฉ ๐Ÿฐ, and the most awaited ๐Ÿฆท ๐˜ฟ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ก ๐˜ฝ๐™ช๐™จ: ๐™๐™Š๐™Š๐™๐™ƒ ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™๐™š๐™จ๐™˜๐™ช๐™š ๐ŸšŒ which provided free topical fluoride application and oral prophylaxis to our students at Particion Elementary School. Each learner also received ๐Ÿชฅ ๐™ฅ๐™š๐™ง๐™จ๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ก ๐™™๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ก ๐™ ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™จ ๐Ÿชฅ to further equip them in strengthening their oral health habits, courtesy of the Municipality of Guimbal through Dr. Ryan Nolledo.

Team Bangirit also conducted the KAP post-test on oral health to assess the improvement of our learners in terms of their overall dental hygiene, nutrition, and WASH well-being. As a reward for accomplishing our activities, we distributed loot bags for everyone! ๐ŸŽ

To formally culminate our school-based programs, we have presented our Certificate and Token of Appreciation to ๐™Ž๐™ž๐™ง ๐˜พ๐™ฎ๐™ง๐™ž๐™ก ๐™‚๐™–๐™จ๐™–๐™˜๐™–๐™ค, the School Principal of Particion Elementary School for welcoming us and his dedication in supporting our initiative of bringing brighter and healthier smiles to our dear learners. Our ๐™„๐™€๐˜พ ๐™ข๐™–๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™ž๐™–๐™ก๐™จ ๐™›๐™ค๐™ง ๐™‹๐™ง๐™ค๐™ฅ๐™š๐™ง ๐™๐™ค๐™ค๐™ฉ๐™๐™—๐™ง๐™ช๐™จ๐™๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™’๐˜ผ๐™Ž๐™ƒ were also officially turned-over to Sir Cyril, to be posted once sink reconstruction is done.
