The 2-day Health Education Activities held on November 27 and 28, 2025 unfolded as a significant learning experience for the Grade 11 students of Jugaban National High School.

On the first day, 170 students gathered with eagerness to deepen their awareness of Teenage Pregnancy Prevention and HIV/AIDS, followed by another 175 students on the second day who shared the same enthusiasm for learning. Throughout the symposium, the voices of the distinguished resource speakers—Ms. Divina Galo, a Midwife from the Department of Health, and Mr. Christian Sumalinog—guided the participants with clear, evidence-based insights and practical knowledge. Their sessions created an environment where students listened attentively, asked questions, and reflected on the importance of making informed choices.

The smooth and successful flow of the activity was made possible through the leadership of School Principal Mr. Leo Macasusi and the steadfast support of Ma’am Jillian and Ma’am Van, whose commitment ensured that every detail contributed to a meaningful and impactful educational experience.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON FLU AND PNEUMOCOCCAL VACCINE SUPPLIES

Public Advisory No. 2025-044 | November 21, 2025

In line with the departments commitment to upholding transparency in public health, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-EV CHD) informs the public that Influenza vaccines are currently unavailable at the DOH.

Individuals who wish to receive and avail influenza vaccines are advised to visit the nearest private clinic or healthcare facility offering the service.

Further, senior citizens who wish to avail themselves of the pneumococcal vaccine may proceed to the nearest Rural Health Unit (RHU) or barangay health center, while stocks last.

The DOH-EV CHD encourages everyone to stay vigilant and continue practicing preventive measures to protect against influenza-like illnesses.

The Municipality of Carigara convened its youth on November 18, 2025 at 9:00 AM at the LGU Liga Hall for a vital Symposium on the Ill Effects of Teenage Pregnancy and HIV/AIDS Awareness. This initiative aimed to deepen young people’s understanding of the health, social, and emotional consequences of early pregnancy, while also strengthening their knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention and responsible decision-making.

With Mr. Charlie Falguera, Chairman of the Midwifery Department of UP SHS Palo, Leyte, serving as the resource speaker, the symposium provided evidence-based insights and meaningful guidance to equip the youth with the awareness they need to make safer and wiser choices for their future.

The event became more than just a lecture—it was a shared experience that empowered the youth to make informed choices for a healthier and more responsible community.

Ayon sa ulat mula PAGASA Visayas PRSD, patuloy ang monitoring sa galaw at sitwasyon ng Bagyong “Tino” na kung saan ito ay inaasahang unang tatama sa kalupaan ng Eastern Visayas. Dahil dito, asahan ang malakas na bugso ng hangin at katamtaman hanggang sa malakas na pag-ulan sa iba’t ibang probinsya ng rehiyon sa mga susunod na oras.

Katuwang ang DOH-Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-EVCHD) at iba pang ahensya, pinapaalalahanan ang lahat na maging alerto laban sa mga panganib at sakit dulot ng pagbaha at matinding pag-ulan, tulad ng leptospirosis, cholera, typhoid fever, hepatitis A, influenza-like diseases, malaria, at dengue.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗮𝗻;
1. Siguraduhing ligtas ang inuming tubig; pakuluan ng 2–5 minuto kung may pagdududa.
2. Lutuing mabuti ang pagkain at ilagay sa mga sealed o covered na lalagyan ang mga tira.
3. Magsuot ng tamang damit upang manatiling tuyo at mainit.
4. Iwasang lumusong sa baha; magsuot ng bota at gloves kung kinakailangan. Ang paglusong sa marumi at kontaminadong tubig o baha ay maaaring mag resulta sa pagkakaroon ng sakit na Leptospirosis.
5. Bantayan nang mabuti ang mga bata at huwag hayaang maglaro sa baha o ulan. Kung saka-sakaling malubog sa baha, agad na maghugas ng kamay at katawan gamit ang sabon at malinis na tubig upang maiwasan ang sakit na leptospirosis.
6. Panatilihing malinis ang katawan at ugaliing maghugas ng kamay bago at pagkatapos kumain.
7. Itapon nang maayos ang basura sa tamang lalagyan.
8. Ihanda ang emergency kit. Ilagay sa isang waterproof container ang malinis na tubig, de-lata, biscuits, mga ready-to-eat na pagkain, flashlight, extrang baterya, at damit.
9. Agad na kumonsulta sa doktor kung makakaranas ng mga sintomas ng impeksyon o sakit.
Patuloy na magbantay sa mga ulat ng panahon sa radyo, TV, o cellphone.
10. Manatiling updated at sundan ang mga abiso mula PAGASA, Municipal/City/Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (M/C/PDRRMC), at DOH-EVCHD.

Manatiling alerto, ligtas, at handa. Tandaan na sa tamang kaalaman at impormasyon, masisiguro ang kalusugan at kaligtasan ng inyong pamilya.
