For counseling: bit.ly/itcs_book-counseling In Touch Community Services (ITCS) is a leading provider of professional counseling services, a telephone Crisis Line and cross-cultural orientation programs. In Touch was established in 1980 and is a non-profit, non-governmental organization servicing the well- being of the community. Originally developed with the aid of the United States Embassy, the aim of In Touch was to provide newly-arrived expatriates with information about resources in the Manila community and to assist them in understanding and appreciating cross-cultural issues. In 1984, In Touch extended its information and referral outreach to the Filipino community through its anonymous telephone-based Crisis Line. At that time, few counseling services existed in Manila especially free and confidential services to assist people who experience stress, anxiety and other challenges in daily life. In the years since, In Touch has trained hundreds of volunteers to respond professionally and compassionately to all Crisis Line callers. While there are several organizations catering to the physical needs of the community, In Touch is one of the few organizations whose activities focus on mental and emotional well-being. We understand these are not tangible, but we cannot overemphasize their importance and consider our services vital to serving the Manila community.

Finally, for the last part of this series, we will delve into the film Good Will Hunting, a film that shows how healing starts when we let ourselves be seen.

Will Hunting has a brilliant mind, but under that lies a history of trauma, a fear of vulnerability, and emotional repression. Through his journey with therapist Sean Maguire, we witness the strength of empathy, trust, and human connection in breaking down the barriers created by pain.

It’s a story that shows it’s okay to ask for help. Growth often starts when someone believes in us, even when we can’t believe in ourselves. 🩵

For the second part of our series, we follow Violet and Finch from All the Bright Places—two teens facing the heavy weight of loss and pain, who remind us that our words and actions can be a light for those in the dark. 🌟

May we continue to choose kindness and check in on one another, for even the smallest gesture can illuminate another's life. 💌

Long after the storm has passed, the fear often stays. 🌧️

Experiencing anxiety or fear in response to a changing climate and natural disasters is a valid and understandable emotional response. By learning about and talking openly about climate anxiety and disaster-related trauma, we remind ourselves that healing goes beyond rebuilding–it begins with understanding and acknowledging what we feel. When the storm passes, silence should not be the loudest thing.

As the Earth heals, may we never forget to heal with it. 🌎💚

💭 It is important for us to talk about topics that can be difficult to start.

For OCD Awareness Week, we explain what OCD is, how it can be seen in people, and why talking about this matters. Reducing the stigma and knowing how one can navigate through this can open up conversations that can help others feel seen and heard. What you feel matters and talking about it can be difficult, but know that you don’t have to go through this alone.
