E-Referral System Orientation Conducted by PHU–SIMC Staff
An orientation on Electronic Referral (E-Referral) System was conducted by PHU–Southern Isabela Medical Center (SIMC) personnel to strengthen coordination and continuity of care between referring health facilities and the hospital. The activity was attended by MHO R. Somera III, Dr. Mary Dolle Aranda, MO III and RHU staff, demonstrating the municipality’s commitment to improving referral efficiency and patient management.
The orientation focused on familiarizing health personnel with the proper use of the e-referral platform, including standard referral protocols, documentation requirements, and timely submission of patient information. Emphasis was placed on the role of the system in ensuring efficient patient transfers, reducing delays in care, and enhancing coordination between primary healthcare facilities and higher level hospitals.

Mallig Oral Health Month Celebration
With the strong support of Mayor Jose Philip "JP" Calderon and in collaboration with IPHO-Isabela, dental partner associations, and Day Care Centers, the Municipality of Mallig proudly rolled out Oral Health Month activities focused on safeguarding and nurturing the smiles of our children.
The program was spearheaded by the Rural Health Unit, led by MHO Dr. Florentino R. Somera III, RHU Dentist Dr. Allan Orje, and the dedicated RHU staff, who worked hand in hand to bring these key interventions to life.
Through oral health education sessions, fluoride varnish application, toothbrushing drills, and the distribution of toothbrushes and toothpaste, the activity showed that prevention is better than cure and reaffirmed our shared commitment to raising healthier, happier children and building a brighter future for Mallig.

In line with the ongoing efforts to promote accessible and quality healthcare services, a medical outreach activity sponsored by Americares Philippines was successfully carried out at Centro 1, Mallig, Isabela. The activity was conducted with the assistance of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) Mallig personnel, under the leadership of Dr. R. Somera III. The initiative aimed to deliver essential healthcare services to the community, particularly to residents requiring immediate medical attention.
Numerous residents and neighboring areas participated in the activity to avail themselves of free medical consultations, health assessments, and basic medical services. The high level of participation reflected the community’s confidence in the program and further emphasized the importance of accessible and timely healthcare services.

Ipinapaalala sa lahat na ang Leptospirosis ay isang seryosong sakit na dulot ng bakterya na hindi lamang nagmumula sa ihi ng daga. Maaari rin itong makuha sa maruming tubig, baha, putik, at mga lugar na kontaminado ng dumi ng hayop.

Dahil dito, mahalagang maging maingat lalo na sa panahon ng tag-ulan at pagbaha. Iwasan ang paglalakad sa baha hangga’t maaari, magsuot ng proteksyon tulad ng bota at guwantes kung kinakailangan, at siguraduhing malinis ang paligid upang maiwasan ang pagdami ng mga hayop na maaaring magdala ng sakit.

Ang pagpapanatili ng kalinisan sa kapaligiran, tamang kaalaman, at agarang pagkilos ay mahalagang hakbang upang maprotektahan ang sarili at ang buong pamilya. Sa oras na makaranas ng sintomas tulad ng lagnat, pananakit ng katawan, o panghihina, agad na kumonsulta sa pinakamalapit na health facility.

Mag-ingat ang lahat, maging mapanuri, at sama-sama nating pangalagaan ang kalusugan ng bawat isa.

Sa loob ng isang taon ng walang humpay na pagsusumikap at sakripisyo upang maihatid ang tapat, mabilis, at dekalidad na serbisyong pangkalusugan sa mga kababayan, muli na namang napatunayan ng RHU Mallig sa pangunguna ni Doc Florentino Somera III ang bunga ng pagkakaisa at dedikasyon.
Sa kabila ng hamon at hirap ng serbisyo pampubliko, nakapag-uwi kami ng mga parangal na sumasalamin hindi lamang sa aming pagsusumikap, kundi pati na rin sa suporta at tiwalang ibinigay sa amin ng ating mga mahal na Malligueño.
Lubos ang aming pasasalamat kay Mayor Jose Philip "JP" Calderon para sa walang sawang gabay at suporta, na naging malaking bahagi ng tagumpay na ito. Ganun din, taos puso kaming nagpapasalamat sa pamayanang Mallig na patuloy na nagbibigay inspirasyon para lalo pa naming pagbutihin ang aming paglilingkod.
Maraming salamat, Mallig!!! Ang mga karangalang ito ay para sa inyo. Patuloy kaming magsisilbi nang may malasakit, integridad, at dalisay na hangarin para sa mas malusog na komunidad.
