Helping someone with PTSD isn’t about “fixing” them—it’s about being there.

✅ Provide face-to-face social support—it’s key to recovery.
✅ Don’t pressure them to talk about trauma.
✅ Do everyday, “normal” activities together to reconnect and heal.

Sometimes, presence is more powerful than words. 🌱

PTSD in the Philippines

Natural disasters don’t just destroy homes—they impact minds too.
PTSD cases in the Philippines spike after events like Mt. Pinatubo (1991) and Typhoon Yolanda (2013).

Raising awareness and providing support can help communities heal and recover together. 🌱

🌍 Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies

Trauma responses are our brain and body’s way of protecting us in threatening situations. They often happen automatically and without control.

Here are the four common types:
🛡️ Fight: Reacting aggressively—angry or irritable.
🏃‍♂️ Flight: Wanting to escape—anxious or panicked.
❄️ Freeze: Feeling numb or disconnected, unable to move.
🤝 Fawn: People-pleasing to avoid conflict—struggling to set boundaries.

Understanding these responses can help us support ourselves and others during crises. 🌱
