In 1961 an Australian woman was described with Rhnull blood type. People with this blood type lack not only few, but all of Rh antigens.
Doctors back then assumed that an embryo with no Rh blood cell antigen would not survive to live. But by 2010, there have been 43 reports of the existence of Rhnull worldwide.
With very few people carrying the golden blood, Rh null carriers are encouraged to donate blood for themselves as it is almost impossible to find a donor.
Talk about rhare. huh.
