Since the passage of Republic Act No. 9262, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) in the Philippines has been recognized not only as a crime, but as a grave violation of human dignity. Yet despite legal protections, countless women and children continue to face abuse, often in silence.
Data shows that nearly 1 in 4 Filipino women experience violence, with thousands of cases reported each year, and many more left undocumented due to stigma, fear, and systemic barriers. Behind every number is a story shaped by inequality, power, and gaps in protection and care.
Today, as conversations around justice and accountability continue, there is an urgent need to confront VAWC not only as a legal issue, but as a public health crisis deeply rooted in our social structures.
Step into ๐๐๐&๐๐๐๐๐ to learn more about Violence Against Women and Children beyond the statistics and beyond the silence. Join us as we explore how health professionals can stand at the frontlines of care, advocacy, and justice. ๐โ
