“Peace I leave with you, peace I give you.” — John 24:27

As we enter the second week of Advent, we are reminded that true peace is not the absence of difficulty but the presence of Christ in the midst of it. In our calling as student nurses, this peace becomes our strength—steadying our hands, calming our thoughts, and guiding our compassion for every patient we serve.

May this Sunday renew in us a quiet confidence and a heart ready to bring healing, gentleness, and hope to others.

Pax Christi. Pax in service.

As we light the first candle of Advent, we begin a season of hope—hope that renews, strengthens, and brings light into our daily journey as student nurses. May this time remind us to pause, prepare our hearts, and embrace the coming of Christ with faith and compassion.

The UST Pax Romana – Nursing Unit celebrates the success of our officer alumni, Former President Christine Allison D. Gutierrez and Former Secretary Ysa Mae N. Muyano, for passing the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE). As part of the UST College of Nursing’s 11-peat of excellence with a 100% passing rate, our two officer and graduates of Batch 2025 have faithfully journeyed through service, study, and prayer. Your dedication has borne fruit, and God’s grace has carried you through.

May this milestone be a reminder that when we offer our work to the Lord, He multiplies our strength and leads us exactly where we need to be.

Congratulations to our Paxie RNs and to the UST CON BATCH 2025 RNs✨

A full day of kwentuhans and games filled the room with laughter, connection, and shared stories. It was a wonderful moment for us students of the College of Nursing to bond, play, and simply enjoy each other’s company.

The Pax Romana UST Nursing Unit family extends our heartfelt thanks to everyone behind this event—your dedication and effort made this gathering truly meaningful. We also thank all the students who joined and helped create new friendships and memories that will last beyond Nursing Week.

More than just an even, it became a space to breathe, reconnect, and joy after the busy days of duties and lectures.

The Pax Romana – UST Nursing Unit has attended the Christian–Muslim Dialogue on Good Governance, an interreligious gathering grounded on the theme “Faith and Youth as Voices Against Corruption: Reclaiming Integrity in Governance.”

The keynote reflections deepened the call to ethical leadership despite the difference of religion.Rev. Fr. Rodel Aligan, O.P. from the Faculty of Theology spoke on “Reclaiming the Common Good: A Catholic Call for Ethical Governance,” reminding us that governance rooted in faith begins with moral responsibility. Prof. Julkipli Wadi, Dean of the UP Institute of Islamic Studies, offered insights on “Amanah and Good Governance,” highlighting Amanah as a sacred trust grounded in accountability to God. The gathering also featured a panel discussion spearheaded by youth leaders in the University, emphasizing the vital role of the youth in confronting corruption.

Listening to the reflections and discussions, we were reminded that Christians and Muslims are called to work together for the common good—guided by our shared spiritual, moral, and religious values. The Muslim concept of Amanah, a sacred trust rooted in accountability to God, echoed the message that genuine governance begins within one’s self.

As present student leaders and future nurses, we recognize that we are not just “leaders of tomorrow”—we are the “now” of society, as Pope Francis reminds us: “The youth are the now of God.” With this conviction, we commit to becoming agents of change, promoting integrity and refusing to normalize injustice. 🧠⌛️

Our delegation also participated in the signing of the Interreligious Youth Declaration on Corruption and Building Integrity in Governance, affirming that leadership is a service to others—not a pursuit of authority or power at the expense of the common good.

The Pax Romana – UST Nursing Unit stands with the Church’s mission: to be proactive, not reactive, in the fight against corruption. Silence allows injustice to grow unchecked. May our faith and our service inspire us to courageously uphold truth, accountability, and good governance for all.

✨ 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭. 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐲

Today, November 17, we honor St. Elizabeth of Hungary, a woman whose life radiated compassion, humility, and unwavering service to those in need. Known for her profound charity and dedication to the poor and sick, she reminds us that genuine love is shown through concrete acts of mercy.

As a community of future nurses, may her witness inspire us to serve with gentle hands, generous hearts, and a faith that moves us to care for the most vulnerable. 💛

🕊️ St. Elizabeth of Hungary, pray for us—
that we may serve others with love and joy.
