☝️ That’s because the type of rest you take matters.

Research in occupational health and psychology shows that recovery depends on whether your rest matches the kind of fatigue you’re experiencing.

For example:

🧠 Mental fatigue needs cognitive rest (less decision-making, fewer screens)

❤️‍🩹 Emotional fatigue needs emotional rest (safe conversations, reduced pressure to perform)

💪 Physical fatigue needs physical rest (sleep, low-effort movement)

When rest doesn’t match the type of strain, the body and mind don’t fully recover—even if you “took a break.”

One key takeaway from our session was the importance of the 3 E’s:
✨ EDUCATE — There needs to be continuous learning about mental health and emotional well-being.
✨ EQUIP — Employees and leaders must be given the right tools to communicate and interact with emotional intelligence.
✨ EMBED — These practices should be built into the daily rhythms of the company until they naturally become part of the workplace culture.
