Day 2: Turning Insight into Action

Day 2 of the 23rd Annual Convention of the School Counselors’ Circle of the Philippines built on the strong foundation of the first day as participants deepened their understanding of comprehensive and data-driven school mental health programs.

Dr. Carmelo Callueng led a dynamic lecture-workshop on the MTSS framework, equipping counselors with practical tools for supporting learners at every level, while Dr. Rose Marie Salazar-Clemeña presented how SEL data can guide research and evidence-based interventions.

The day was further enriched by the Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan counseling team, Ms. Faith Yatoc, Ms. Marycris Go, Ms. Jeannyvic Roa, Dr. Irene L. Reymundo, and Ms. Farrah Christelle C. Ranises, who shared real school experiences that brought data to life.

Lively exchanges during the Q&A and collaborative reflections highlighted the community’s shared commitment to improving student well-being and holistic development.

Day 1: A Strong Start for Student-Centered Change

Day 1 of the 23rd Annual Convention of the School Counselors’ Circle of the Philippines opened with energy and purpose as school counselors from across the country gathered at Bayview Park Hotel Manila to move from policy to practice in supporting student mental health and development.

The program began with opening remarks by Dr. Rose Marie Salazar-Clemeña, setting the tone for a day of learning and collaboration, followed by insightful sessions from Prof. Lucila O. Bance on mental health law compliance, Dr. Carmelita P. Pabiton on career pathways and professional growth, Dr. Joyce M. Dy on guiding students toward the future of work, and Ms. Therese Amita dela Cruz on nurturing a growth mindset.

Engaging discussions, hands-on activities, and reflective exchanges made the day a meaningful start to the convention.
