Our families (Tizon and Santos) and I want to express our deepest gratitude for the incredible outpouring of love and support we received during Chini's battle, her final days and after her passing.
Thank you to everyone who rallied around her—your presence, prayers, and kindness made a world of difference.

Thank you to everyone who visited her in the hospital, attended her wake and funeral and sent mass cards (Ang dami! 😃). We are also eternally grateful for your emotional, financial and spiritual support, and for the countless ways you helped behind the scenes with food, music, transportation and other logistics.

Your support was a light for us during this most difficult time for our family. We are grateful beyond words for your love, compassion and generosity.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Chini. We did not expect that she would be gone so soon after we felt hope to move forward with her treatment. She suddenly developed breathing difficulties and was urgently rushed to the nearest hospital on the night of Sunday, August 10, 2025, but was called home. We will announce the details of Chini's wake and memorial services soon. Please pray that God will grant her entrance to his heavenly kingdom where suffering is no more.

We are closing our call for donations. We are profoundly disappointed that Chini no longer had the chance to undergo immunotherapy that might have given her more time with us. Our hearts especially go out to her three children who are now left without a mother, and Christian who will now have to parent solo. We are planning to allocate the funds that have so far been raised for Chini's treatment for these purposes instead:
-her previously incurred medical expenses
-wake and funeral expenses
-college funds for the children's future
-therapy to help them process their feelings of loss and learn how to cope, especially in view of the eldest's special needs and the tender age of the two other children.

We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and support for the bereaved family. We will not forget that one of the last things Chini did was to urge her family to go to Mass in thanksgiving because so many people had given out of the generosity of their hearts.

Chini, we love you. We entrust you to God's loving mercy. Thank you for everything.

Thank you so much! We are in awe of the overwhelming response to our post appealing for help in Chini's cancer battle. It's been tough. We felt defeated after her HMO coverage was depleted and we learned that the estimated cost of two vials of pembrolizumab to be used in one session of immunotherapy is ₱150,000, and up to 35 sessions may be needed. It felt like we were running out of options. You've given us so much hope 🌻. As of Aug 9, 2025, 9:14 PM, we have collectively raised ₱422,970.34, which means that we can start immunotherapy while making arrangements for Chini's transfer to a government hospital, and secure supplies for her enteral feeding and medicines. Once again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and may God reward you abundantly! 💗🕊️

Chini is a government employee, wife of Christian, and mother of three kids. The eldest has special needs (socioemotional). Their youngest just started school this year. Chini is battling cancer (stage IVA squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue). She's already been through chemo and radiation. With God's grace, she pulled through her recent hospitalization that necessitated tracheostomy and a few days' stay in the ICU, but unfortunately, her HMO coverage has already been maximized, and cannot be utilized anymore. Next step would have been immunotherapy with pembrolizumab, 75k per vial, 2 vials per session every 3 weeks, possibly up to 35 sessions for full course. The cost of a full course of treatment with pembrolizumab is Php 5.25 M 😰.

Right now, we are looking at getting treatment at a government hospital or charitable institution. Still, since Chini is unable to eat at all due to the tongue cancer, she requires formula feeding through a tube that goes directly to her gastrointestinal tract. Currently she is using Ensure Gold Strength Pro, and the monthly cost of her formula is around P15,200. She also requires medicines to help her breathe and prevent heart failure, costing around P3,000 weekly, or P12,000 monthly. Those are on top of their family's needs. As you can imagine, this illness has been a terrible financial and emotional burden on the family 😢.
