Today, we celebrate World Hearing Day 👂💙

This year’s theme, “From communities to classrooms: hearing care for all children”, calls us to prevent avoidable childhood hearing loss and ensure early identification 🔎 and timely care. ⏰

Globally, around 90 million children and adolescents live with hearing loss. Many remain undiagnosed and without access to needed services, especially in low-resource settings.

When left unaddressed, hearing loss can impact speech, language, cognitive, and social development. Hearing is more than a sense.🧏‍♀️ It is a bridge to communication, connection, learning, and participation. 🗣️📖

Let’s act now so no child is left behind because every child deserves the chance to listen, communicate, and thrive. 🌟

This March, we stand in support of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. At Milestones Therapy Center, we believe that early intervention, understanding, and compassion can help every child reach their fullest potential.

Let’s continue to create safe, inclusive spaces where all children are valued, supported, and celebrated.

This March, we open our hearts and minds to be more aware of developmental disabilities! 🤗💖

Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions affecting physical, learning, language, or behavior areas. Most begin before a baby is born, but some can happen after birth due to injury, infection, or other causes. They can include:

🔸 Learning disabilities: affect the ability to learn
🔸 Autism Spectrum Disorder: affect behavior, communication, and social skills
🔸 Cerebral Palsy: affect movement, coordination, and balance
🔸 Physical disabilities: include blindness or deafness
🔸 Conditions that can affect both physical and mental abilities, including Down Syndrome

The said conditions can result to lifelong challenges in learning, which can make daily routines difficult. Although there is no known cure, early intervention can help children make the most of their strengths. 🧠

As the future of this field, we carry the responsibility of—not only creating awareness towards developmental disabilities—but also to spark action, uplift voices, and create spaces where everyone can thrive. ✨

No matter our abilities, we all deserve equal opportunities, respect, and safe space. Inclusion starts with kindness, and kindness starts with you. 🤝
