As the nation marks the 53rd year since Ferdinand Marcos Sr. placed the Philippines under Martial Law, we remember it not as a time of “peace and discipline,” but as one of the darkest chapters in our history—marked by the plunder of our nation’s wealth, the silencing of voices, and the trampling of basic human rights. Billions were stolen while ordinary Filipinos suffered in silence.

As law students, we are reminded that the 1987 Constitution was born out of this painful history. It was written to ensure that tyranny and betrayal would never again take root in our land. 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗫𝗜, 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟭 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿: “𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁.” Yet time and again, we see public officials who treat government as their private estate—squandering public funds, enriching themselves, and forgetting that they are meant to serve, not to rule. The promise that sovereignty resides in the people rings hollow when political dynasties dominate elections, when corruption decides policy, and when public trust is treated as disposable.

Fifty-three years later, the same patterns repeat. Inflation and unemployment burden ordinary citizens while those in power live in comfort. Corruption scandals come and go with little to no accountability. Justice remains elusive for victims of rights violations and worse, our history is being rewritten to erase the crimes of the past—an insult to those who suffered under the regime.

We refuse to be silent. We know that the law is not just words on paper; it is a living promise of justice, freedom, and accountability. To stay quiet in the face of corruption and historical revisionism is to betray that promise.

𝗢𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱: 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁.

🔗 Our pre-order link for the first batch of orders is officially closed. Keep your eyes peeled for the next batch of orders soon!

🧾 We’ve sent invoices for all orders via email. If the invoice email doesn’t appear in your inbox, kindly check your spam folder.

‼️ The deadline for payments will be extended until September 20, 2025. Unpaid orders after this date will no longer be included in the production.

As another bar preparation season comes to a close, the Arellano Law Hotel Operations and Marshalls would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who generously shared their time, effort, and support.

This endeavor would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of our AHOM officers and members, our dedicated student volunteers, the Office of Student Affairs, the Arellano Law Student Government, the Arellano Law Foundation staff, the Office of General Services, the janitorial and maintenance staff, the AUSL security personnel, and the AUSL administration and academic staff.
