๐ The True Cost of Living Decently: A Tribute to Teachers
We got married in December 2012 and start building our home in April 2013. By the month of June 2014, we have already moved in because the ground floor was already done.
Behind every lesson taught, every student inspired, and every exam graded, thereโs a teacher quietly carrying a weight many donโt see.
Many teachers take loans just to build a homeโa safe, solid place for their family to call their own.
But with a salary that often leaves only โฑ3,000 to โฑ5,000 net pay per month, paying off that loan over 3 years or five years can feel like an uphill battle every single day.
Every payday brings mixed emotions. Excitement at receiving the salary, quickly replaced by quiet sighs as deductions eat up most of it, leaving just enough for daily necessities.
And yet, teachers persevere. They keep going, smile through exhaustion, and continue dreamingโbecause the vision of a better life fuels their determination.
๐ก Insight: Many teachers juggle multiple sidelinesโtutoring, baking, selling goods, or online workโjust to make ends meet. Their dedication extends far beyond the classroom; itโs about creating security, comfort, and hope for their loved ones.
Teachers donโt just deserve to surviveโthey deserve to thrive. Every extra hour, every sacrifice, every long night spent preparing lessons or working a side hustle is a testament to their strength, resilience, and love.
โจ Encouragement: To all the teachers out there: never underestimate the impact of your hard work. You are building more than homesโyou are building futures, shaping lives, and showing your families and students the meaning of perseverance and hope. Keep going, because your dedication matters, and your dreams are worth every effort.
