As we celebrate Womenโ€™s Month, we recognize the women whose contributions became foundational to the development of psychological theory. Their work shaped core perspectives in psychoanalysis, developmental psychology, cognitive science, and feminist thought, perspectives that remain central in psychological study and practice today.

The roots of psychology were not built by one voice alone. These women challenged limitations, expanded existing theories, and strengthened both the scientific and human foundations of the discipline. They did not merely contribute to psychology, they redefined it. Today, their theories remain embedded in classrooms, clinical practice, research, and even in the DSM discussions we continue to study.

This Womenโ€™s Month, we honor the women whose work continues to shape how we understand the mind and behavior.

This Month, we are reminded that women are more than the labels, expectations, and stereotypes often placed upon them. Women are not objects to be admired only for appearance, nor are they anyoneโ€™s fantasy to be defined by others.

This month is not only about celebrating women but also about recognizing their worth, contributions, and the challenges they continue to overcome. It reminds us that women deserve respect, equality, and the freedom to live without being reduced to expectations or labels.

Women are powerful, and their voices matter, not just this month, but every single day.

Self-harm remains one of the most misunderstood mental health concerns, particularly among adolescents and young adults. Research consistently shows that a significant number of students report engaging in self-harm behaviors โ€” often in silence.

Self-harm is not simply โ€œattention-seeking,โ€ nor is it a personality flaw. From a psychological perspective, it is most often understood as a maladaptive coping mechanism โ€” a way to regulate overwhelming affect, manage distress, or externalize internal pain when healthier strategies feel inaccessible.

However, while it may provide temporary relief, self-harm is associated with increased psychological risk and is one of the strongest predictors of future su***de attempts. This makes awareness, early intervention, and supportive response crucial.

As a community, our role is not to judge, but to understand.
Not to shame, but to create psychologically safe spaces.
Not to dismiss, but to respond with empathy and evidence-based guidance.

If someone discloses their struggle, listen actively. Validate their emotional experience. Encourage professional support when appropriate. Small responses can have significant protective effects.

Awareness is prevention. Education is empowerment. Empathy is intervention.

The opening of booths was a true reflection of the hard work and imagination of every team. From carefully planned concepts to uniquely designed setups, each booth showed the dedication poured into making ideas come to life. Behind the colorful decorations and exciting activities were students who gave their time, energy, and passion to create something memorable.

The Psychology Society extends its gratitude to our 1st and 2nd year students for successfully organizing SynchroSpin, and to our 3rd and 4th year students for leading and bringing the Escape Room to life. Your teamwork, creativity, and commitment truly made these activities stand out and become highlights of the event.

This recognition reflects the dedication, teamwork, and countless hours of preparation behind our booth, and we share this achievement with every member who contributed to making it possible.

We would also like to thank all the MCians who participated, supported, and took part in our activities. Your enthusiasm and involvement brought our booth to life and made every effort truly worthwhile.

It wasnโ€™t just about standing out, it was about showing what can be achieved when effort meets creativity. We hope to continue this spirit of collaboration, passion, and excellence in the coming years, creating even more meaningful and unforgettable experiences together. โœจ

As a student organization, the Meycauayan College Psychology Society, recognizes the ongoing dialogue comparing the "resilience" of todayโ€™s youth with that of previous generations. While the Filipino character remains strong, the pressures of 2026 can sometimes make even the strongest feel vulnerable.

Being resilient today isnโ€™t about carrying burdens silently, itโ€™s about acknowledging struggles, seeking support, and expressing emotions honestly. The youth of today are showing that vulnerability is not weakness, but strength, as they openly talk about mental health and care for their well-being. ๐ŸŒฑ

Key Takeaways:
โ€ข Resilience today means asking for help when you need it.
โ€ข Talking about mental health is courageous, not a sign of fragility.
โ€ข Supporting young people in a fast-paced, connected world builds hope, confidence, and strength.

As a student organization, we pledge to create safe spaces, provide guidance, and advocate for programs that empower our youth to thrive. ๐Ÿ’›
