World AIDS Day 2025: A Day of Learning, Reflection, and Action

The event commenced with a motorcade around Poblacion, followed by a short symposium on HIV/AIDS. We are grateful to Mr. Isidro Abelita Jr., RM, RN of the Provincial Health Office; Mr. Val Estevez, RN, DMO IV; and Ms. Enriqueta Y. Tusing, RN, DMO IV of PDO Masbate for leading our symposium on World AIDS Day, with the theme "Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response."

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all 100 participants—including members of the LGBTQIA community, LDSJ Grade 8 students, MHO personnel, and Barangay Health Workers—for your active participation. We hope you gained valuable knowledge about HIV/AIDS and that you are inspired to be part of the action in combating the disease.

Additionally, we express our gratitude to Milagros PNP for ensuring the safety of our motorcade.

Let this event serve as a constant reminder: "Change begins with awareness, and progress starts with action." Together, we are stronger.

The 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 is calling on the 𝗟𝗚𝗕𝗧𝗤𝗜𝗔+ community to come together for an impactful event commemorating 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗦 𝗗𝗮𝘆.

This gathering is more than a celebration; it's a vital effort to strengthen our community's health and understanding.
We are focusing our efforts on five key areas:

• 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: Providing essential information to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS.

• 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗧𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Actively working to eliminate the stigma and discrimination often faced by those affected.

• 𝗔 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Instilling hope and resilience, particularly for new generations.

• 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀: Making sure everyone knows about the local HIV services available in our municipality.

• 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱s: Creating a safe space for education and constructive community conversation.

Department of Health-Center for Health Development Bicol WASH Team, Provincial Sanitary Engineer Nida Marie A. Gallardo and Provincial Health Office-Rural Sanitary Inspector Riza A. Bacunawa together with our Rural Sanitary Inspectors Lura Duero Arnedo and Mark Anthony B. Tuyan conducted water sampling in selected deep wells around Bacolod and in RHU Milagros to ensure the quality and safety of drinking water through our water filtration system. This initiative strengthens our commitment to safeguard public health and provide clean, safe water for the community.

Yesterday, October 2,2025, our Rural Sanitary Inspectors Lura Duero Arnedo and Mark Anthony B. Tuyan conducted a post-typhoon inspection at the local water refilling stations-
Ojeda WRS, Heaven's Droplet WRS, Pevida WRS
Nick & Jane WRS, Vins WRS, Tres Maria's WRS
Spring Alkaflow WRS, RJJ WRS following the onslaught of Typhoon Opong. This initiative aims to ensure the safety and potability of drinking water for the community, safeguarding public health and welfare.
