1. What is good for hair?
1.1 Protein
Since hair is made up of protein, it's important to make sure you get enough protein in your diet. Protein is an important ingredient for healthy hair. Without enough in the diet, hair will become dry, brittle and weak. Extremely low protein diets cause hair to grow longer and even lose hair.
Many people wonder what to eat with hair loss? One of the foods that cannot be ignored is the protein found in chicken, pork, beef, fish, eggs, milk… Beans and nuts are also great sources of plant-based protein.
1.2 Iron
Iron is an especially important mineral for hair. Iron deficiency anemia is the main cause of hair loss. Because the hair roots and hair follicles take nutrients from the blood to nourish the hair fiber. If there is a lack of nutrition, the process of providing nutrients is not complete. This affects the hair growth cycle and can lead to hair loss.
Red meat, chicken and fish provide easily absorbed iron for the body. Lentils, spinach and other green leafy vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and lettuce are vegetables that are rich in iron.
1.3 Vitamin C
Vitamin C helps the body absorb iron. So foods rich in vitamin C are good to combine with foods rich in iron. Vitamin C also helps strengthen the blood vessel system to nourish healthy hair. Fruits are a rich source of vitamin C such as blueberries, guava, kiwi, oranges, papaya, strawberries...
1.4 Omega-3
Omega-3 fatty acids are important fats that the body cannot make on its own. Which get them from food everyday. Omega-3 has the ability to moisturize the scalp and hair. Adding foods rich in omega-3 such as salmon, herring, mackerel, avocado, pumpkin seeds, walnuts will help add shine to the hair.
1.5 Vitamin A
Vitamin A is needed by the body to make sebum from the hair's sebaceous glands. They act as a natural conditioner for a healthy scalp. Without sebum, the scalp can become dry and itchy and the hair becomes frizzy and prone to breakage. Vitamin A is found in many red-orange vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins, gac, sweet potatoes, etc.
1.6 Zinc
Zinc deficiency can lead to hair loss and dry scalp. Whole grains, salmon, oysters, beef, eggs ... are foods that contain a rich amount of zinc for the body.
1.7 Biotin
Biotin is a water-soluble B vitamin. Too little biotin can cause hair loss. Foods rich in biotin include whole grains, egg yolks, and soybean meal.
1.8 Water
To provide enough moisture for the hair, make sure to drink enough water from 2-3 liters per day.
