Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) is a serious public health and human rights issue. Globally, 1 in 3 women experience violence in their lifetime—and in the Philippines, 1 in 4 women aged 15–49 have suffered physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.

VAWC leaves lifelong effects on physical health, mental well-being, and child development. No one should endure such harm.

Today, as we observe the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of VAWC,
Gatchalian Medical Center stands with survivors and advocates for a community where every woman and child is safe, protected, and supported.

Together, let’s break the cycle of violence.
Together, let’s promote healing, dignity, and good health for all.

“Leaders are not rewarded; they are remembered.” - ProfRicky De Vera

Managers and supervisors of Gatchalian Medical Center took part in the Leadership Training Seminar: “Social Intelligence (SQ) in Leadership and Interaction” an enriching and thought-provoking session led by Prof. Ricardo De Vera, MBA, CSP, CMP, Asia’s Exceptional Influencer in Business Mentoring and Leadership Coaching.

This activity, organized as part of the Human Resource Department’s continuous leadership development initiatives, provided our leaders with valuable insights on what it truly means to lead with empathy, credibility, and social awareness. The seminar emphasized that social intelligence plays a vital role in leadership, allowing individuals to connect, influence, and inspire others effectively. It guided our leaders in strengthening their self-awareness, building credibility and trust through authentic communication, and adapting leadership styles to various situations leading not by authority or title, but through example and meaningful connection.

It was an inspiring experience that reminded us that leadership is not about control, but connection not about authority, but influence.
