Organic Agriculture | A Model For Sustainability
There's a lot to learn from our farmers and natural farming -- from food nutrition to environment preservation.
Here are some snaps from our recent shoot in Tarlac, where we talked to farmers and organizations practicing, and supporting organic agriculture.
One of the highlights was the multi-crop organic farm of Ate Soledad, where she cultivates at least four crops in an average sized farm lot -- pomelo, ginger, potato, and coffee to name a few. I didn't know you could grow coffee in these parts of the Philippines. While we were shooting, fruits were falling non stop from the trees.
During the interview, she told us that her family was not that affected by the pandemic because she attended her crops and focused on her harvest, then sold it to restaurants in Manila, adding that it pays better compared to what a traditional farmer gets from mono-crop farming.
