Run for Healing Ministry was founded by Marvin Jan C Baladiang when he attempted a solo run across Antique Province (from Anini-y to Libertad) on March 23-26, 2015 as a way of Fund Raising Activity for a MEDICAL MISSION PROJECT that could bring change, healing and hope to the lives of the Antiquenios. Even though he wasn't able to finished the 4 day run challenge due to an injury he suffered from running on the 2nd day, yet through the financial support of friends around the world especially from Thailand made the MEDICAL MISSION PROJECT at Barangay Mojon, San Jose, Antique, Philippines last April 5, 2015 became a huge success for the maiden voyage of this minsitry under the banner of the Seventh day Adventist Church. And with that success granted by our Heavenly Father, he was inspired and compassionate enough to create change and healing on the lives of the Antiquenios, and by faith he envisioned this ministry to become a yearly event "run for a cause" for a medical mission project to some remote and unreachable places in Antique. And by making the first move for this vision to become a reality, Marvin decided to open up the idea of this ministry to fellow Adventist young adults from Southern and Central Antique Districts who has the same compassion, love and commitment for the ministry to carry on the objectives and mission of this ministry. And that they were able to create a core group to execute the plan for this activity. And April 2, 2015 became a history for the Run for Healing Ministry as their first meeting was held at the ACS Building, Sibalom SDA, Church and with that the Core Group for Planning and this project was officially created. Marvin Jan C. Baladiang, Filipino (Antiquenio) English Teacher in Thailand finds joy and passion in long distance running dares to face the adventurous and grueling challenge of Ultramarathon to finish an almost 200 kilometer solo run across his native province known as Antique in the central part of the Philippines for a Medical Mission Project and as a tribute to the Antiquenios. Marvin Jan Baladiang is from the province where they always adore as a paradise where the mountains meet the sea; Antique, Philippines. He is currently working in Thailand as an English Language Teacher under Chulalongkorn University and Nonthaburi Government Teachers' Project. An active leader of Muangthong Thani Adventist International Church (MAIC) and had always an undying love and passion for God's service, gospel ministry and serving others who are in need. He owe his existence to God who gave him resources, abilities and talent all throughout these years. God has blessed him through the years of his existence in spite of his failures in life, God is always there fulfilling His plans and have patience with him in understanding the real purpose of life. For the past few years of his stay in Thailand, he fell in love with running because it's the only way he could release the stress that pressured him from his work, so he finds himself running for hours in the park during his free time, he started to join and finish marathons in Bangkok and even sometimes running from his home to school with a total distance of almost 50 kilometers during Sundays. God has started to give him the gift of endurance and he wants to use it for His service. He gave him courage and passion to run the distance so he wants to do something memorable for others as a way of celebrating God's goodness in his life. This summer in March 2015 he decided to face the grueling challenge of his debut in Ultra-marathon running with a 'cause' across the province of Antique with a total distance of about 200 km from south (Anini-y) to north (Libertad). He wants to do this as a "FUND RAISING ACTIVITY" and the amount that will be raised can be a great help and support for a MEDICAL MISSION that will be held in any area or barangay in Antique in the same month this year. The objectives of his running are threefold: to develop further his endurance, to become a trainer for young marathon runners in Antique in the future if given a chance and to support the Medical Mission financially to realize this project.
