Stop chasing your blood sugar. Start leading it. ๐ก๏ธ๐ฉธ
Many of my patients struggle because their sugar levels feel like a roller coasterโhigh in the morning, crashing by the afternoon. But effective management isn't about being perfect or restricting everything you love; it's about creating predictable patterns that your body can rely on.
To stay within the "Healing Zone" (80-130 mg/dL before meals), you need a strategy. Here are the 3 Golden Rules we use at the clinic to keep your glucose stable:
1๏ธโฃ QUALITY: Itโs not just about "no carbs." Itโs about picking the right fuel. Choose Low GI sources like Camote, Oats, and Brown Rice. These provide a slow, steady burn and prevent the "sticky blood" that stalls recovery. Remember to limit refined carbs that are low in fiber!
2๏ธโฃ QUANTITY: Consistency is your best friend. Instead of having one heavy meal, spread your carbohydrates equally throughout the day. Using tools like Carb Counting and the 1/4 Plate Rule helps you manage volume without the stress.
3๏ธโฃ TIMING: Your body loves a routine. Eating at consistent times helps your insulin work more efficiently. Pro-tip: A simple 10-minute walk after meals acts like "natural insulin," helping your muscles use up that sugar immediately.
The Bottom Line: Management is about progress, not perfection. When you master these three, you take the guesswork out of your health!
