Our very own Dr. Sara Nicole Eleazar of the Department of Family and Community Medicine, is currently attending the WONCA (World Organization of Family Doctors) World Conference to present her Family Case poster entitled: "Of Gin, Guilt, and Growth: Primary Care Counseling Interventions for Alcohol Dependence in A Dysfunctional Single-Parent Family" in Lisbon, Portugal. It was chosen among a sea of cases as one of the best. We are very proud of you on this achievement!

DOH, EAMC, and KOICA: Working together for better health care for every Filipino

The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) conducted an implementation survey at the BUCAS Center of East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) as part of their collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), for its grant project entitled "Enhancement of the DOH BUCAS Centers' Treatment and Laboratory System Capacity for Achieving Health Equity in Selected Regions of Luzon." This survey aims to develop a detailed list of resources needed and their activity-based budgeting.

Key hospital officials of EAMC - Dr. Alan Troy Baquir (Chief of Medical Professional Staff), Dr. Sergio Tanhueco, Jr. (Head of the Outpatient Department and Chairman of EAMC Department of Family and Community Medicine), Dr. Maria Veronica Datinguinoo (Head of ER and Trauma Center), Dr. Ruth Anne Manansala-Kong (BUCAS and DFCM Consultant), Dr. Pauline Bueno and Ms. Mira Maramag (HFDP Unit), and Ms. Dianne Manrique (EAMC Navigation Unit), assisted and provided vital information to the representatives of Quezon City LGU, DOH and KOICA as they conducted the site visit at EAMC's Ambulatory Care Services and other facilities within the medical center.

Together, EAMC, DOH and KOICA strengthen health services for a healthier future for every Filipino.

[COMMUNITY ACTIVITY]

Ngayong Sabado, muling nagtungo sa partner community sa Brgy. Santol ang inyong mga doktor mula sa EAMC Department of Family and Community Medicine upang magsagawa ng community survey at maghatid ng libreng serbisyong medikal.

Nagsagawa ng makabuluhang public health lecture tungkol sa pangangalaga ng mata para sa malinaw at maayos na paningin. Naghandog din ng libreng konsultasyon sa mga miyembro ng barangay, mula sa mga bata hanggang sa matatanda.

Kasabay nito, inilunsad ang community survey upang mas lubos na maunawaan ang kalagayan ng barangay at matukoy ang mga programang angkop sa pangangailangan ng komunidad.

Naging matagumpay ang mga gawaing ito sa tulong ng ating mga masisipag na opisyales ng Brgy. Santol, BHW, at iba pang kawani. 💚💛

2. August 21 (Huwebes) - Ninoy Aquino Day
3. August 25 (Lunes) - National Neroes Day

Ang FM-ACS ay serbisyo sa ilalim ng Department of Family and Community Medicine kung saan kinikita natin ang mga sumusunod na pasyente:
1. Mga 19 years old pataas na kailangan ng agarang konsultasyon.
2. Mga bata na 18 years old pababa na nakagat ng hayop kagaya ng a*o, pusa, o daga.
3. Mga pasyente na hindi nag hihingalo o hindi nag a-agaw-buhay

NATIONAL HOSPITAL WEEK 2025 🏥💛💚

Sa pagdiriwang ng National Hospital Week 2025 na may temang “Hospital: A Healthy Workplace for All sa Bagong Pilipinas,” atin pong kilalanin at pahalagahan ang ating mga doktor at healthcare workers na patuloy na naglilingkod nang buong puso. Gaano man kabigat ang laban, ang bawat kawani ay laging handang magbigay ng pinakamahusay na alaga para sa bawat pasyente, dala ang malasakit at dedikasyon.

TRADITIONAL AND ALTERNATIVE HEALTHCARE

Matagumpay na naisagawa ng Section of Traditional and Alternative Healthcare (TAHC) ng EAMC Department of Family and Community Medicine ang dalawang araw na Medical Mission nitong July 29-30, 2025, na naghandog ng libreng Acupuncture, Ventosa, at Moxibustion para sa mga pasyente ng OPD, at kawani ng East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC). Ang serbisyong ito ay naging posible sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Health (DOH) at PITACH-Certified Acupuncturists na mula sa South Korea.

Ang aktibidad na ito ay dinaluhan din ng mga opisyal ng EAMC, sa pangunguna nina Dr. Alfonso Nuñez, III (Medical Center Chief), Dr. Allan Troy Baquir (Chief of Medical and Professional Services), at Dr. Sergio Tanhueco, Jr. (OPD Head and Department Chair of EAMC-DFCM).
