After 36 out of 71 weeks of chemotherapy (plus infections, antibiotics, delays, blood transfusions, multiple portacath/PICC line surgeries, high fever, vomitting, trips to the ER, pneumonia, and COVID) we're halfway there... Malayo pa pero malayo na. Galing mo anak.💪🏼😘👍🏼 We love you.🤗🥰🙏🏼

During SIV's chemotherapy maintenance phase, he will start physical and occupational therapy. He will also have another surgery next week to remove his PICC line and insert a portacath again. SIV's operation will be tom, Thu Mar. 13 at 7am and might be 2-3hrs long. Good news is portacath will be removed and the new one will be inserted in the same procedure. Not so good news is it will be a high risk surgery because of his condition overall. After another platelet transfusion last Sun his platelet count went up to 68k but on Tue it was down to 50k. His doctors want it higher than 50k for surgery so they'll reserve platelets for SIV on standby during surgery. He still has edema which will add challenge and risk to the surgery too.

Please pray for a successful surgery and fast recovery for SIV so he may be out of the ICU soon, be with us, and be able to continue his chemotherapy.🙏🏼
