Some people are drowning in debt—
not because they’re reckless,
but because they’re silently carrying everyone.
Debt doesn’t always come from shopping.
Sometimes, it comes from sacrifice:
the food on someone else’s table,
the medicines that kept a parent alive,
the tuition that gave a child hope.
It’s easy to say “Mag-ipon ka!”
But how do you save
when your paycheck has more names on it than yours?
We glorify the givers,
but rarely pause to ask:
“Kumusta ka na? May natira pa ba para sa’yo?”
Some heroes don’t wear capes.
They wear tired eyes, hidden tears,
and a smile that hides the weight of a mountain.
