Buenavista National High School - San Jorge, Samar Buenavista NHS is located five kilometers from the town proper of San Jorge. It hones children from the upstream villages of San Jorge, Motiong & Gandara.

CREATION

To make education accessible to children from upstream villages of San Jorge, Moting and Gandara, Samar, Buenavista National High School was opened by DepED on year 2001. Starting as annex school of Ramon T. Diaz Memorial High School of Gandara, Buenavista NHS operated through the effort of former barangay captain of Buenavista – Mr. Alfonsos Bagas, Mayor Aquilino Catalan and Schools Division Superintendent - Dr. Thelma Cabadsan-Quitalig. Managed by its current school principal – Mrs. Adela V. Bagas, the school has seventeen permanent teachers, one canteen-in-charge, registrar and one school guard. FACILITIES

The school has nine classrooms. Two of these classrooms are makeshift classrooms made from bamboo split and nipa shingles. Four of these classrooms are built through the effort of then Mayor Joseph Grey. The rest is built by DepEd. The school has sufficient water supply and water tank. In partnership with the 43rd Infantry Battalion under the 8th Infantry Division of Philippine Army, Buenavista National High School was able to tap ABS CBN Sagip Kapamilya Foundation. The foundation donated two classroom which is now under construction. Today, Buenavista NHS has a reading clinic, SSG Office and a computer laboratory with 11 units of computer. It also has a PTA-managed canteen. PAGE MODERATOR
