Stronger Systems Through Partnership
Collaboration is essential. It exemplifies genuine public health action.
The National Stakeholder Consultative Meeting for the Establishment of SALAG PH, or Snakebites Action, Logistics, and Antivenom Group Philippines, was successfully held from March 9 to 13, 2026, in Bacolod City.
This significant initiative was organized by Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, in collaboration with the Department of Health, Disease Prevention and Control Bureau, through the Environmental and Occupational Health Division and the Toxicology Specialty Centers.
We are proud to share that the Western Visayas Sanitarium and General Hospital (WVSGH) was represented by Dr. Armie Gutierrez, Medical Specialist II, who actively participated in discussions on snakebite epidemiology, clinical management, and antivenom logistics.
The consultative meeting shows a shared commitment to strengthen coordination within health systems, improve access to life-saving antivenom, and establish a unified clinical pathway for snakebite envenoming in the Philippines.
WVSGH supports this advocacy because stronger systems built through partnership save lives.
