The Biñan City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) participated in the Orientation on the Early Warning, Alert, and Response System (EWARS) for Surveillance in Post Extreme Emergencies and Disasters (SPEED) conducted by the DOH Epidemiology Bureau and DRRM-H.

This orientation strengthens our local capacity in rapid detection, reporting, and response during emergencies and disasters—ensuring that Biñan remains prepared to safeguard the health and welfare of every resident.

The Biñan City Epidemiology & Surveillance Unit (CESU) successfully conducted a Philippine Inegrated Disease Surveillance & Response (PIDSR) Orientation for our Barangay Health Station personnel at Super Health Center II – Langkiwa on November 17, 2025.

This activity aimed to strengthen our disease surveillance system by ensuring that our frontliners understand the:
✔️ RA 11332 – Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases
✔️ Biñan CESU Ordinance
✔️ Basics of Public Health Surveillance and case definitions
✔️ Why, How, and What to report for timely public health action

👨‍⚕️ Hans Kristian O. Lorenzana, RN, CAE discussed the case definitions of various notifiable diseases, ensuring uniform and accurate reporting across all Barangay Health Stations.

👨‍💼 Joselito Bernarte also presented the Biñan Quick Send, the CESU’s platform for fast and efficient disease reporting.

Through strengthened knowledge and unified surveillance practices, we continue to work toward a healthier and more resilient Biñan City. 💚

The City Health Office - City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) and Disaster Risk Reduction & Management in Health Unit (DRRM-H) proudly took part in the Enhanced LDRRM Plan workshop organized by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).

📢 Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) Update | Lungsod ng Biñan 🦠

Ayon sa datos ng City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), may 1,039 kaso ng Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) na naitala mula Enero 1 hanggang Oktubre 18, 2025.
📉 Ito ay 23.44% na mas mababa kumpara sa kaparehong panahon noong 2024 (1,357 cases).

📍 Ang barangay na may pinakamaraming kaso ay Barangay San Antonio na may 138 kaso (13.28%).

Patuloy po nating palakasin ang ating kalinisan, tamang cough etiquette, at pagpapabakuna laban sa trangkaso upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng sakit! 💪🧼💉

Ang Influenza-like Illness o ILI ay mga nakahahawang sakit na dulot ng iba’t ibang virus o bacteria na umaapekto sa ilong, lalamunan, at baga.

Ayon sa World Health Organization (WHO), ito ay impeksyon na may lagnat na hindi bababa sa 38°C at ubo na nagsimula sa loob ng 10 araw.
