𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐒𝐍𝐃 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲!

The BS in Nutrition and Dietetics First Year Students for AY 2025–2026 were officially welcomed into the department during the Freshmen Orientation held last September 10, 2025, at the Maritime Building.

The milestone became even more memorable with the presence of the parents, who proudly accompanied their children as they began a new chapter in their educational path. The program then unfolded with the invocation and hymns, followed by warm greetings from the department head. Freshmen were introduced to the department’s faculty and organizational structure, important university policies, the BSND curriculum, and Republic Act No. 10862 or the “Nutrition and Dietetics Law of 2016.” Sessions also covered dental orientation, guidelines on thesis preparation, and practicum requirements, all designed to guide students through their academic journey.

The event likewise highlighted student involvement as the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians (SSND) presented its revised constitution and by-laws, inducted its new set of officers, and distributed SSND pins as a welcome treat for being new members of the organization.

As one of the program’s highlights, Dr. Benedicto T. Militante, Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered an inspirational message that urged the freshmen to face challenges with integrity, service, and excellence. The event ended on a hopeful note, encouraging the BSND freshmen as they take their first steps in EVSU.

As USWAG draws to a close, we're bursting with pride and gratitude! 🎉 A massive congratulations to the School of Technology (SOT) for their incredible performance in the University Student's Welcome Activity and Gathering (USWAG) securing 2nd Runner Up and USWAG Spectacle Award! 📣 Your energy and spirit were absolutely contagious, and you represented SOT with passion and pride. 🥈

But the celebrations don't stop there! 🙌 We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of VPAA Day, where we proudly achieved 2nd Place! 🏆 Your hard work, dedication, and collaborative spirit shone brightly, making the day truly memorable.

On behalf of the BSND community, the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians extends its warmest congratulations to our very own Miss Greyzinthe D. Combis, a third-year BSND student. She gracefully shone and proudly represented the School of Technology along with her partner, Mr. Maynard Geraldo, a BSHM student, during the Mr. and Ms. EVSU 2025 last Tuesday night, September 2, 2025, held at Miguel Romualdez Auditorium.

Ms. Combis gained several special awards, namely Ms. IGP 2025, Ms. Jai Records, and was also chosen as Ms. Chic Zone Salon and Spa. Through your elegance and confidence, you represented not just the beauty, but also the wit and excellence of the School of Technology and the Nutrition and Dietetics Department.

Once again, congratulations, Ms. Greyzinthe Combis! You made us all proud. 👑

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡! 🥗

Concluding their 2025 Nutrition Month Celebration, spearheaded by the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians officers, the BSND students cap off the event with an awarding ceremony for the various activities and competitions held throughout this month, earlier this morning, July 28 at HTB-Building, Room 208.

Prof. Lady Winderose Oliverio, head of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department, gave her closing remarks, expressing her sincerest gratitude to everyone involved in making this nutrition month a memorable one.

Futhermore, Wenchyl Divine Padullon, President of the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians also expressed her gratitude towards the BSND students who actively participated in all the activities and commended the officers with their hard work in making this celebration a success.

Lastly, the closing ceremony ended with a photo opportunity with Prof. Oliverio and the BSND students.

Continuing the celebration of the 51st Nutrition Month, the students of BSND started their third (3rd) day of celebration with a guessing game called Kuha mo or Not: Food Edition and ended with Family Feud: Nutrition Edition last 25th of July held at the HTB-Building, Room 208.

Section 1B opened the day’s competitions with a strong performance, showcasing their sharp thinking skills, and sharp memory in securing the first game, Kuha mo or Not?. The players were blindfolded and should be able to guess the fruits and vegetables using their tactile sensation only. The game began with an easy round featuring fruits and vegetables that should be answered in a Waray-Waray dialect, followed by a moderate round using Filipino terms only, and concluded the game with a challenging English terms only.

Despite the early setback, Section 1A made a comeback in the afternoon game, dominating Family Feud: Nutrition Edition with their quick thinking, cleverness, and great camaraderie which ultimately claims the first place.

Following yesterday's activities, the students of BSND open the day with the start of the 2025 Nutrition Month Nutri-Games headed by the Society of Student Nutritionist-Dietitians officers and various committees.

Students of all year levels compete in an exciting outdoor game of message relay, displaying wit, creativity, and camaraderie among their peers in each round that they participate in. With the first round, the whispering of nutrition-related sentences, and the second round incorporating basic exercises in every action they pass along, highlighting the importance of doing physical activity in our daily lives and doing it in an enjoyable way, and the drawing relay having the classic spin on the game.

The day ended with representatives from both 1st and 2nd year levels going head-to-head in a battle of knowledge in the Nutri-Bee, with the representatives of BSND 1B Jescyn Kate Dagar, Vince Tristan Docena, and Nathaniel-Seth Lelis snagging the victory of the day, followed by 1A students Karylle Dizor, Jamaica Gallamos, and Honey Vital, then by the 2nd year representatives Nikko Ballais, Cheenna Mariah Bodo, and Nicole Barcoma, and lastly by the merged year level Ma. Darlene Abocejo, Khim Agosto, and Sophia Angelei Nogal.

𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢-𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭: 51𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! 🥦🥗

Showing their skills in drawing and talent in cooking while also making nutritious and delicious dishes, the Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics students of each year level compete in this year's Nutri-Talent drawing and cooking show competition for the 51st Nutrition Month Celebration of year 2025.

The 2nd year students Red Pancho, Pauline Realino, and Fe Lozada, took home the first place spot for the cooking show competition, followed by the 3rd year students Leah Catindoy, Kate Obero, and Godly Ripalda in 2nd place, and finally the 1st year representatives Angel Delgado, Ferelyn Miranda, and Niña Jean Retalis for the 3rd place.

Meanwhile, the 1st year students Rey Anthon Andrade, Khim Agosto, Kirstin Mangle, and Swynn Sabangan expressed their artistic take on this year's nutrition month theme: "𝑭𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒂𝒕 𝑵𝒖𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑴𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚! 𝑺𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒕 𝒏𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒌𝒂𝒊𝒏, 𝑲𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒏 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏!" in today's drawing competition.
