The PDS Convention is more than a conference of lectures and presentations. It is a celebration of commitment—commitment to excellence, patient safety, continuous learning, and ethical practice. Here, experts and respected figures in the field share the most updated studies, the latest technologies, new treatment protocols, and groundbreaking research crucial for safe and effective patient care.

Aesthetic dermatology or Aesthetic medicine is only for licensed doctors.

As a licensed doctor, I strongly support the newly implemented and stricter protocols issued by the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS) and the medical authorities. These measures are not just reminders — they are active enforcement actions against individuals and clinics practicing medicine without a medical license. This includes those who inject fillers, Botox, any foreign substances, use medical-grade lasers such as diode and resurfacing lasers, and even those who prescribe topical medications for acne and melasma without the authority to do so. Raids and legal actions will now be implemented.

Let’s be honest — this is no longer a small issue. There has been a dramatic rise in cases of burns, infections, deformities, and permanent scarring caused by fake fillers, counterfeit Botox, illegally imported threads, and misuse of medical lasers. Patients come to us crying, traumatized, and disfigured — and many of these cases are irreversible. The worst part? These unsafe practices have become so common that people now see them as normal.

To those who say this is just about exclusivity — no, it is about protecting lives. Aesthetic medicine is not just a business. It is not a “skill you learn online.” It is not a workshop. It is medicine. Every procedure involves science, anatomy, ethics, and accountability. Only licensed doctors have the proper training to assess complications and respond to emergencies.

Holding unlicensed individuals accountable is not being selfish. Allowing harm to continue is.

Choose safety. Choose ethics. Choose a licensed doctor.

Following your lead Dr. Yohann Kae S. Panis-Luzano

Some days feel like a blur — running from one responsibility to another, managing the clinic, attending trainings, meeting patients, handling decisions, and constantly thinking of the next step. Life lately feels so tight and packed that even breathing needs to be scheduled. But this is what pursuing dreams looks like — not always glamorous, not always gentle, but always worth it.

Attending to my dreams is hard work. There are days when I feel like I’m scrambling… juggling work, survival, and personal growth all at once. But I remind myself: growth doesn’t happen in comfort. Every challenge is shaping me. Every exhaustion is teaching me. Every moment I choose to stand back up is proof that I want this life — not because it’s easy, but because it’s meaningful.

I may not always have everything figured out, but I am always learning. I want to save not just money or achievements, but wisdom.
