Cancer remains a major public health threat worldwide. When not detected early, it can be a life-threatening disease that places a heavy burden not only on patients, but also on their families, communities, and the country’s overall development.

The observance of National Cancer Consciousness Week highlights the importance of prevention and early detection. It focuses on avoiding exposure to key risk factors of chronic diseases such as:
✔️ Physical inactivity
✔️ Improper diet and poor nutrition
✔️ Smoking
✔️ Alcohol use

Early detection through screening of high-risk individuals is crucial in stopping the progression of cancer and improving survival outcomes.

This week also calls for the synchronization of efforts among public and private institutions, organizations, and communities to strengthen cancer prevention and control initiatives.

đź’ˇ Prevention starts with awareness. Early detection saves lives.
Let’s work together for a healthier, cancer-conscious nation.
