Failing to detect and treat vision disorders in children may lead to partial or full blindness and may result in issues with chikd development, academic achievement, self-esteem, social-emotional behavior and juvenile delinquency. Children up to age 2 should have their vision screened during regular pediatric visits and then every year or two through the age of 19".
