Saint Theresa College of Tandag, Inc. would like to inform the public that the bomb threat circulating online, posted by an anonymous individual, has been confirmed to be a hoax or a bomb joke.
Upon receiving the threat, the school immediately implemented all necessary precautionary measures, including the safe evacuation of students, faculty, and staff to ensure everyoneโs protection. We promptly coordinated with the Tandag City Philippine National Police (PNP), the Provincial Explosive and K-9 Unit, the Tandag City Emergency Response Team (TCERT), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). These agencies swiftly responded and conducted a thorough inspection and safety assessment of the entire campus.
We strongly condemn this kind of irresponsible act that causes fear, anxiety, and disruption within our school community. Such actions not only disturb the peace and order in our institution but may also inflict unnecessary trauma upon our students, faculty, and staff. Rest assured that the safety and well-being of our Theresian family remain our highest priority.
We are working closely with authorities to identify and hold accountable the person or persons responsible for this alarming post. We remind everyone that spreading false bomb threats is a serious criminal offense and is punishable under Presidential Decree No. 1727, which imposes imprisonment and fines for such unlawful acts. Anyone found guilty of spreading false information or causing public panic will face the full extent of the law.
We would also like to emphasize that the situation was handled calmly, systematically, and efficiently, and no panic occurred within the campusโcontrary to what may have been circulating online.
In line with this, we are announcing the resumption of classes and office operations as follows:
- Basic Education Department โ Classes will resume tomorrow, October 24, 2025 (Friday).
- College Department and all office transactions โ Will resume this afternoon, October 23, 2025 (Thursday).
Saint Theresa College of Tandag, Inc. assures everyone that our studentsโ safety will always be our foremost concern, and we will continue to uphold a secure, peaceful, and faith-filled learning environment for all.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Tandag City PNP, the Provincial Explosive and K-9 Unit, the Tandag City Emergency Response Team (TCERT), the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and our school administrators, faculty, staff, students, parents, and guardians for their cooperation, vigilance, and calm response during the incident.
We also ask for the continued prayers, understanding, and support of the entire Theresian community as we move forward from this eventโstronger, safer, and more united.
Together, let us continue to make Saint Theresa College of Tandag, Inc. a haven of learning, safety, and faith.
