Tanjay City Nutrition Council took part in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony held at Sto. Niño High School, signifying a strengthened commitment to promoting health and nutrition among school-aged children.
In line with this initiative, the Council also facilitated the distribution of Weekly Iron and Folic Acid (WIFA) supplements to female learners as part of the city's ongoing efforts to address micronutrient deficiencies among students.
The event was honored by the presence of our esteemed City Mayor/CNC Chairman, Mayor Jose "Pepe" T. Orlino, alongside dedicated public servants and stakeholders from various sectors. Also in attendance were representatives from the Department of Education, led by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Estela B. Susvilla, Assistant SDS Dr. Marcelo K. Palispis, Cluster Head Mrs. Isabelita Culi, District-in-Charge Mr. Sherwin Mananquil, and Sto. Niño High School Principal Mr. Cris Anthony R. Ortega.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the continued support for the Gulayan at Palaisdaan Alang sa Kabataan (GPAK) Program, a holistic school-based initiative that promotes food sustainability, proper nutrition, and environmental stewardship through integrated gardening and aquaculture projects. GPAK Focal Person Mr. Reymark E. Peranco, together with GPAK Replicators and PTA President Mr. Rowell Oliver, reaffirmed their commitment to the program’s long-term goals.
The event also witnessed the active participation of the school’s dynamic teaching staff and enthusiastic students, whose involvement remains vital to the program's success. This collaborative effort underscores the city's dedication to nurturing healthier, well-nourished, and more resilient learners through sustainable and community-driven programs. Daghang salamat Tanjay.🙏🏻🤍
