The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) recorded another significant accomplishment in its intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign following the arrest of a High-Value Individual (HVI) and the seizure of approximately โฑ748,000 worth of suspected shabu during a successful buy-bust operation conducted at around 6:27 AM in Purok 1, Bucana, Barangay 76-A, Davao City.
Arrested during the operation was a suspect known by the alias โLovely,โ a 23-year-old resident of Purok 1, Bucana, Barangay 76-A, Davao City, who was identified as a High-Value Individual and a priority drug target of the DCPO.
The operation was spearheaded by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and City Special Operations Group (CSOG), led by PLTCOL RANDY P SAMBALOD.
In a statement, PCOL MANNAN CARACAS MUARIP, Acting City Director of the DCPO, underscored that the successful arrest of alias โLovelyโ exemplifies the D.A.V.A.O. frameworkโDiscipline, Action, Virtue, Accountability, and Orderโbeing actively implemented across all police operations.
โThe arrest of alias โLovely,โ a confirmed High-Value Individual and a long-standing target of the DCPO, demonstrates the discipline and decisive action of our personnel, guided by virtue, accountability, and respect for the rule of law. This operation sends a strong and unmistakable message that no drug personalityโregardless of status or influenceโis beyond the reach of lawful authority,โ PCOL MUARIP stated.
He further emphasized that the DCPO remains firm in its commitment to carry out relentless, intelligence-driven, and lawful operations aimed at dismantling drug networks and safeguarding communities, particularly the youth, from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.
The suspect is currently under police custody and will face appropriate charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The DCPO also reiterated its call for continued public support and cooperation as it sustains its campaign toward a safer, orderly, and drug-free Davao City.
