Workshop on 'Navigating Diabetes: Preventing and Managing through Dietary Interventions' arranged by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Amin Campus on December 5, 2024, with aimed at empowering participants with essential knowledge and various dietary strategies for preventing and managing diabetes. The event was honored by Ms. Arooj Rauf, clinical dietitian at Shifa International Hospital as our esteemed chief guest.
Workshop activities:
• Interactive session: Focusing on effectively managing and preventing diabetes, emphasizing the importance of early detection and making healthy dietary changes.
• Meal Planning Strategies: Provided practical strategies for managing diabetes through balanced meal planning, emphasizing nutrient-dense foods, portion control, and healthier choices.
• BMI and Body Composition Assessment: Students and faculty of TUF had the opportunity to evaluate their individual health metrics, including Body Mass Index (BMI), obesity degree, body fat percentage, and bone mass and how it relates to diabetes risk.
